Why unhappy patients do not post

Garageland maybe I have just spoken to too many patients over the last 10-12 years. Then I hear about all the patients they have spoken to and then one starts to get a clearer picture of what is really going on.

I am not here to bash clinics that have done poor work on me. All one needs to do is take a look at my posting history. My main message has always been to speak and meet with as many patients, employees and clinics as possible. To always start out slow, one of the reasons among many that I believe fue is the best way to go.

Maybe the forum that prefers I not post there would expect me to bash them. I have no reason to do that. I'm just disappointed that they feel threatened by my message. It's was not my intention to harm them in anyway, only to help others.

Im new to the forum but have lurked through them all for around a year,i respect you for saying the truth in spite of the inevitable consequences on certain forums, the truth no matter what it is has to get out to the public and its a credit to bigmac for having such an open honest no bullshit forum,i dunno whether im breaking rules saing this but hairsite and hlh make me sick!!

Imo Hairlosshelp is a very good site. Runnung a forum is hard work, sometimes members won`t like decisions made by the owner but most owners like myself do have your best interests at heart and i firmly believe the owner of HLH is one of these guys.

Mountain, I would rather not mention the site, it almost seems like name calling. It s easy to figure out because I post to all of the forums. But to ban someone because they have a different point of view that is presented in a civil manner should raise suspicion. Of course if one finds it hard to contest the point it might be easier to just ban the source. But then this completely destroys the credibility of the site and those who are associated with it. Obviously they have something to hide, which is a giant red flag. No different than the red flags I have seen with some of the clinics I have consulted with over the last 12 years.

What I find most disturbing about all of this is that some unknowing individual that stumbles on to the site for the first time is clueless. So it s easy to get caught up in the hype of the message they are trying to convey without realizing there is an ulterior motive.

Listen, I am not against anyone making huge amounts of money putting a recommended list together. It s a great idea and I wish I would have thought it up. But at least have the common decency as a person to be honest in the way that you run your business. This is cosmetic surgery and you are dealing with people s lives.

When I first sat in that HT clinic chair over 25 years ago the doctor knew what he was doing was wrong. He has even been quoted recently as having found Jesus. Like somehow that will undo all the evil he has done. Forum owners such as the one I have been banned from are no different than that doctor that first got me in the chair. They are not part of the solution they are part of the problem. I can also say the same for those that support it and help to keep it around.

What I really don t understand is that when you look at most highly profitable and highly reputable companies, they do not associate with individuals or other companies of questionable character. And if by chance something slips by, they are extremely quick to distance themselves from the same individual or company. It seems like good business sense.

I have posted this before but to those that wonder why I have been posting on the forums for the last 12 years, it s because I feel a sense of obligation. I don t want what happened to me and many others to happen to anyone else. Although the techniques have greatly improved and some great clinics have come along, there is still a slimy underbelly just below the surface.

Marrs, I have been posting on the forums for a very, very long time. I m not sure what happened that you have a negative view towards hairlosshelp. But I also must say that although at times I don t always agree with the point of view of the posters or even the forum moderator. It does allow a place for honest and open debate. This is exactly what a forum should be. We are not always going to agree. But we learn from getting other points of view and then coming to our own logical conclusion.

By keeping the name of the site secret, you prevent others from knowing how little credibility it has. If you want to help people, put the details out there.

Mountain, it is not secret. Anyone reading between the lines can easily figure it out. Just a small amount of time and effort will reveal it.

No different from researching clinics. The truth is simply not going to be handed to you. It takes time and effort. For some to think they can just pick a name off the recommended list is foolish. Nobody knows this better then me because I was very foolish at one time but now I know better.

You don't want an instant answer from me because that is not in your best interest. You want to read and post to all the forums. Speak to as many people in person and on the phone as you can. It's only then that you can get a better understanding about how some parts of this industry operate and you will be able to make a better decision.

Something that I don't quite understand about the message I received from the forum owner was their concern that my promotion of fue over fuht was dangerous. Although a good majority of the doctors on their recommended list perform strip there are some that do some fue work.

So what exactly does this mean. If they feel fue is dangerous why would they accept a sponsorship fee from a clinic that performs fue yet try to stir the forum in a specific direction. It doesn't seem to make sense from a business stand point. You are going against your own sponsors, how does this benefit them?

Sparky this is why character is so important when making a decision. Not only the character of both yourself and the person you are doing business with but the character of their employees and everyone associated with that business, in this case the clinics.

I have had the experience of one clinic actually using the janitor to place my grafts. It was only after a local news expose did I realize some of the reasons for the poor outcome. Consequently this same doctor picked up shop and set up in another state. There was actually another doctor on this recommended list that partnered up with this same doctor, but is now on his own. Just the slightest amount of research would have told this doctor that who he decided to partner up with had a very dark past. So why on earth would you associate yourself with someone who knowingly had an unethical history of doing business? Of course when this doctor s name comes up I retell the story of who he has partnered up with in the past after the fact was well known. I don t think it goes over too well but it is something to consider.

It doesn t take much to destroy a business reputation that has taken years to build. This is why the top companies do their due diligence.

A perfect example of a local company in my area would be the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen. A company which had been in buiness just under 100 years. But through it's association with Enron it was forced into bankruptcy. It was later found not to have been guilty of any wrong doing, but by then it could no longer continue as a viable business. It's reputation had be throughly destroyed.

Hi TOPDOG, now that you realize you made a mistake hopefully you can move forward and also help others at the same time. Can you tell us what the red flags were that you didn t see at the time but now that you look back on your experience you realize they were definitely signs that should not have been ignored.

Here is a typical example. I have seen clinics where the majority of patients seem to be in there early 20 s. Most prospective patients would not be concerned with this nor would it draw their attention. They are more concerned with looking at the hairlines. What they fail to understand it that it is very easy to dense pack a low hairline on someone that is 20+ while also very easy to convince them that they are making a good decision. These young men simply do not have any real world experience and their naivety is very evident to those that are selling them a procedure that is probably not properly planned for the long term. Sure that result will look good for a few years while also drawing in other young men but they often become casualties as time goes by and they realize their donor has been completely used up.

So in this situation the red flag was the average age of the patients was very young.
