Wow Godzilla that’s an amazing result and gives me great hope.

I’m currently exactly 4 weeks post op from Dr Banaros and like you not experienced any significant shedding so far. As I’m early still got that potential shed time to come.

Quick questions -

1) You said the hair that did not shed some remained dormant while others grew at the same rate as your non transplanted hair. Did the dormant ones eventually grow?

2) Approx what percentage of transplanted hairs do you think were shed in the shedding phase?

Thanks

It would be great to see your HT journey.

I had a transplant with Dr Bonaros on the 1st of March.

My experience since the first consultation, to the follow up experience, to the actual transplant has so far been second to none.

I’m just over 2 weeks out from the transplant so far too early to post actual results but so far I’m loving the work.

I was planning to share my full experience but just have not had a chance to do so yet. I will create a separate thread over the next few days with full before, during and after photos.

In the meantime feel free to ask me any questions and if you are local I’m happy to let you see my graft placement in person.
Hi Ryan,
I hope you are well and I am happy about your successful experience with Dr Bonaros.
I am not a local but I am visiting Glascow this week, I was wondering if we could meet as I plan on doing my hair with Dr Bonaros.

My apologies I have not been on the forum for a while and just seen your post.

Have you had your transplant yet? I am happy to meet you in person if you want.

Given my hair characteristics, limitations with donor, type of loss - I was a difficult case.

I have achieved exactly what Dr Bonaros said was possible for me, however I still need more surgery to get to where I want to be.

Did you have your consult? If so, how was it?
Hi @Bigmac, Consultation with Dr Bonaros went well.

We started off by talking about my history i.e when I started noticing hairloss, am I on medication, mother’s/father side of the family and did the males suffer hairloss and what Norwood patterns they were etc…The basics.

Then I outlined my goals and showed him some photos of ideas for a proposed hairline, he assessed the recipient and donor area and he gave me his verdict. What we spoke about will be detailed in his next email along with a projected graft number for a potential FUE procedure (should I decide to go ahead with it) as well as a cost breakdown.

You can tell that he has passion for what he does. He is a very good listener and lets you say your piece before he gives his opinion, great attention to detail and he is certainly not a yes man…Lots of surgeons would be happy to give the customer what they ask for but Dr Bonaros gives what he thinks is the most realistic, natural and conservative approach which I respect.

Thats good to hear he has a lot of passion and listens to what you say as a potential patient. Good luck with your final decision making.
