Hi All,
I am planning to have my hair transplantation and I am bit nervous to travel alone to get treated. If anyone is sailing in the same boat, kindly let me know. I can't travel with my family as two of my kids got school. Hence any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Which clinic are you going to ? You don't want to be going to a black market FUE hair mill where the doctor shakes your hand and draws a line on your head and wishes you luck and you never see him again .

Turkey is a big place, most clinics are Istanbul area I think, there are others splattered around the country. I think Ankara has quite a few. How many grafts are you thinking of?

Hi there, Hair back.....I understand your nervous as I was too and my Mrs came with me :)

At one point I was almost travelling alone due to childcare issue, so I asked the clinic I was going with if they could put me in touch with anyone to buddy up, but they said they couldn't disclose patient info.

I will say this......If you do travel alone, you will meet lots of guys getting it done as its so common out there. I met 3 guys travelling out at the gate and we were chatting all things HT even before I got on the plane...…. I can only comment on my own hotel, but it was full of patients who had had work done.

I bumped into someone I knew from my home city in my Hotel

I know one clinic offer a chaperone service......i.e. will travel with you but im not sure how common this is.

Its perfectly normal to be nervous, but now I am on the other side, nearly 4 weeks post op, I cant stress enough how easy the whole thing was......Nominal pain and you will meet other people there gauranteed. We ended up going shopping with a small group of people who had surgery the same day as me as you are in the same boat...…..dare I say it my trip to turkey was a pleasant one, I really enjoyed it, despite me being nervous as hell.

Also Turkish airlines were amazing, so book with them if you go...….I was very impressed with this airline.

Good luck mate and feel free to pick my brains, what's left of them anyways :)

Hi,
Would you mind sharing the clinic and doctor you have gone for? Also the technique you opted and number of grafts? Also last but not least whats your feedback?

Hi there, yes I went to cosmedica and the Dr was Dr Acar…...the experience was amazing tbh and exceeded my expectations....I received 3000 grafts into front third......I have previously had a strip back in 2006 so was a top up on top of that procedure.

The work I received in turkey was super refined and imo great value for money

I'm only 3/4 weeks out so cant say what the result is like as I'm currently shedding and my head looks like a coconut, although there are lots of great reviews and results knocking about the internet from Dr Acar......fingers crossed im one of them

One more thing if you dont mine... how much did they charge? Have you gone for FUE? If so, does it leave any scars or marks at donor area? Do they shave head for FUE method?

They have several different packages on their website, I opted for the VIP Dr Acar package which set me back 3.2k

You can pay less if you want the techs to plant your grafts approx. 2.2k or less again if you don't opt for the needle free aneasthetic

Yes I had FUE and it was a doddle compared to strip....I was completely comfortable throughout

There ar no scars to the naked eye, punch size 0.7mm

I had my head shaved but some guys had partial shaved and looked like krusty the clown, if you don't have a strip scar shaving down is a non issue IMO

After 10 days I just looked like I had a buzz cut

Hello

I commend you on doing your detailed research , as it will greatly benifit you making your decision.

As we know one has to be extremely careful in their research , especially regarding Turkey. There are so many black market FUE clinics causing so much harm and pain, both physically and mentally to patients.

I spent 6 years researching where the best doctors and clinics were in the world for my own Hair Transplantation. I studied and had consultations with a number of clinics . When I studied Eugenix in India and compared them to others around the globe I was really impressed with everything about them. Hence I decided to have my HT with Dr.Pradeep Sethi and Dr. Arika Bansal at EUGENIX.

Results by Eugenix shown here on the forum are outstanding. The two founding doctors Dr.Pradeep Sethi and Dr.Arika Bansal are highly skilled with excellent doner preservation while at the same time creating optimum density with a great artistic design and very natural hairlines. At this early stage of my HTjourney I am extremely satisfied with the current result.

Dr. Sethi and Dr. Bansal invented the DHT method, Direct Hair Transplantation. This is the most advance technique of Hair Transplantation, where grafts are extracted and simultaneously implanted at the same time. This method ensures that grafts out of body time are kept to a minimum which in turn allows a lot more grafts to survive .This technique has been proven to deliver outstanding results for so many patients. You can see all these results for yourself on this forum , YouTube, and also on the Eugenix website.

In my opinion the cost of a HT should not be one of the main initial considerations where possible when conducting your research. Although I understand everyone has a budget. Eugenix prices are really competitive for the quality delivered , compared to others that are showing inferior results in my opinion.

Dr.Pradeep Sethi and Dr.Arika Bansal are very highly regarded in the HT industry, while being active members of several HT organisations around the globe. Dr.Arika published many papers , and both doctors co wrote the book Step by Step Hair Transplantation. This book has proven to be a great learning tool for so many doctors in the HT industry. Both doctors have been asked and have given lots of talks and discussion on the subject of Hair Transplantation to educate other doctors on their skill and knowledge. As we have seen on this forum , and elsewhere, they are experts in dealing with extreme cases of baldness .

The very well know Hair Transplant mentor Joe Tillman regards Dr.Sethi and Dr.Bansal very highly, and has accepted them into his highly recommended clinics for Hair Transplantation. Joe Tillmans criteria for acceptance is very strict. Only the best of the best doctors are accepted. Joe has his own reputation to look after, and he turns far more clinics away than he accepts. For example just some of Joes strict criteria are , doctors must be showing exceptional results and doing it consistency . Doctors must be showing very natural temples, and hairlines with great density. Crown work has to be exceptional. Many doctors cant ,or wont do crown work as it such an art. Another strict criteria of Joes is doctors must be experts in carrying out repair work.

As a member of this informative forum , where I gained so much knowledge, and now with the experience as being a patient myself, I would highly recommend Dr.Pradeep Sethi and Dr.Arika Bansal at EUGENIX India.

Just a final thought,

" Doing it right costs less than doing it over again "

Hi There .... One last thing: Will there be any negotiation possible on prices? Where do I find genuine reviews about clinics and doctors ?

You would have to ask the question regarding price...….Reviews are all over the net, google, facebook and forums...…...I contacted 4 or 5 guys via face book who left google reviews and all of them praised the clinic I used.

I cant stress enough, that it all boils down to the end result, not your experience at the clinic, like I said there are lots of consistent results online for the clinic I used you just have to zone in on one you like.

There is a patient section on here full of results that you can check out. Judging by the number of people who opt for Turkey there`ll probably be some on your flight.
