Help with finding surgeon

Hello everyone,
I am new here and have been wanting to get a HT for years. I bought some time using the fibers but it’s to the point now where I have to get it done. My goal is by the end of this year. I’m from Jacksonville FL and trying to find a good surgeon. I’m willing to go anywhere in FL. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Check out Dr Glen Charles and Dr Aaron Nusbaum in that region. They both do good work.
What’s your hair loss situation?

Yeah I was looking at Dr Charles. I have diffuse thinning going on. Started losing hair when I was around 19. I’m 32 now. Stupid question, but can you finance a HT?

A lot of clinics will offer finance, plus there are finance companies that will provide these services. Ask the clinics, they’ll let you know. Are you on any hair loss meds? Diffuse thinners should really have their hair loss stabilised before having surgery.

I’m not. I was always scared of the side effects. I’m probably around a Norwood 4 to 5. Frontal hair loss is worse than the crown. I think I have pretty good donor hair.

Donor hair is susceptible to DHT as we age. The meds will prevent or slow the process down. Being a nw 4-5 now, you could move to a 6 quite quickly. Look into the topical options or oral minoxidil if you're adamant that you don't want to try oral Finasteride. Side effects are real in a small percentage of people. Some will start on a lower dosage to see how they react. If ok, they slowly increase it.

Can a Norwood 6 get a hair transplant?

If they have enough donor, have realistic expectations, use meds usually , know the risks of not using meds and further loss.
Have you any pictures you can share showing your present loss?

Do you recommend Keeps? I’ve seen before and after pictures or some really good regrowth.

They seem to be a legitimate company. The products may vary from other manufacturers. Different strengths and mixtures.

Hey so I took your advice and just ordered from keeps. Got my Finasteride and minoxidil. I know I can expect shedding but do you know how bad the shedding can be? I don’t want it to make me completely bald lol.

There should be information supplied with it but since you’re asking. Both can increase your hair shed, more than what you’d normally lose which can result in a thinner look but these hairs grow back. It would be highly unlikely you’ll lose enough hair to look bald.

Ok thank you. And can I still use my hair fibers with it?

Once your hair is dry you can use the fibres as normal.

Ok thank you for the help. Also, when I get my order should I start taking both at the same time or one before the other?

What exactly did you order?
I don’t see any reason why both can’t be used together immediately but best to check with the supplier.

Minoxidil liquid or foam?
I started Finasteride first, then added minoxidil. Only because of how I purchased both items. The minoxidil became unbearable, after a few months I had skin irritation and terrible dandruff, so I stopped using it. I`ve been on Finasteride since 2005 and it’s still working.

It’s the foam. Have you noticed regrowth with the Finasteride or just maintaining? And did you experience the shed with it?

I tried foam after liquid but that too caused irritation. I believe I did experience regrowth of dormant follicles and strengthening of miniaturised hairs With Finasteride. It is still maintaining my hair 17 years on.
I believe it is maintaining my donor area too.
Check out these links and see what you think.
