Seeking advice for limited donor area and HT recommendations in India

Hello,
My case looks complex because I don't have enough donor area to cover my bald patch as well a bit of correction on frontal hairline.

In order to tackle my best, my plan is to:

  • I might want to prioritize first on my half upper crown and then if left, frontal hairline and then mid scalp and then the rest taken care of by SMP.
  • I usually like to keep buzz hair on lower sides just like undercut, please refer to my old pics under folder "buzz_hair_I_keep" inside the folder "donor_area"
  • I might need to get some SMP combination in my case but not sure.
  • Combination technique like FUT+FUE+Beard may extract more instead of just FUE+Beard ?

The objective is to go to single run doctor clinic and to go for in-person clinical analysis with the following surgeons. And then whomever doctor explains the things that sounds more logical to me, who paid more attention to my design requirements, coverage and future expectations. I will go with that doctor.

Here is the list of shortlisted surgeons

  • Medispa Dr. Suneet Soni
  • Darlingbuds, Dr. Tejinder bhatti
  • Eugenix, Delhi (I am aware of premium packages where Dr. Bansal or Dr. Sethi operates but I cannot afford those high tier package and I am not sure about the other trained doctors can do better than those mentioned in the list)
  • Medlinks Dr. Gaurang Krishna, Delhi
  • Dermaclinix, Dr. Kavish

I am constantly monitoring their galleries, insta, YouTube channels to see who is dealing with the greatest number of complex cases. I understand that with complex cases you cannot get a head full of hair but strategic planning and placement of grafts is the main skill, creating that illusion.

I am also aware that Dr Zarev from Sofia may be the best person how he personally does everything and the quality but unfortunately the budget and waiting period ☹

Here are the pics

To see FULL-HD, comb through donor area, please go to “donor_area” folder
To see my old pics, buzz cut, undercut I used to keep, go to “old_pics_buzz_hair”
To see, before/after 1st sitting pics, go to “1st_HT_sitting_past”

Estimated scalp and beard grafts

With the help of pictures, I’ve reached out to several clinics, I’ve a quotation for approx. 2000 to 2500 for scalp and between 1000 and 1500 for beard. Things might take a turn in a good or bad way during in-person clinical analysis.

Medications I am taking:
  • Currently on [chekfall-F topical- Contains Min(5 %w/v) + Fina(0.1 %w/v)] (1.25 ml at night only once) and Follihair multivitamin (once a day)
  • Not feeling like having any side effects at all with above topical solution
  • Biotin 10000 mcg once a day after dinner (Ingredients per softgel: Gelatin (Bovine/Porcine), Glycerin, Purified Water, Soybean Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow Beeswax)
  • Planning to start 1mg oral Fin in two weeks

Looking forward to your feedback on surgeons and overall opinions.

Thanks in advance

UPDATE: I can add a few pictures here but there's a lot to show including videos, old, current, future, it's just not possible to attach lot of photos/video. That's the reason I've used the drive in which folders are segregated and named very appropriately. I'd really appreciate if you can browse through that gdrive. But for the convenience, I've still attached a few photos.

No pictures are showing. You are better off adding them to your post to allow everyone to see them rather than going to an external link.

I think adding low caliber single hairs to the hairline will give it a more natural look. If you have coarse hair they might have to be taken from around the ears and nape where they are finer. Who did your first transplant? The strip scar looks decent.

Yes, correct adding low caliber to the front might improve a bit, but the main issue is limited donor supply with big bald crown. It was done by a local lesser known doctor. The FUT scar getting better, still a bit red. I may want to camouflage it with SMP in future.

Yes, I've you on the list, as you see. I am making the list and will come for in person consultation with those doctors. One fact I know Eugenix is very costly when it's the founding doctors designing the hairline......

The reason you should consult with Eugenix is that they are adept at using beard hair. I would explore all your options, but with a high NW case like yours Eugenix would be at top of my list even without the 2 top docs.

Your hairline is not that bad and could be refined with some singles to create a more natural look. The crown is a big area which will require at least 3000 imo. As you’ll be using beard, the higher percentage needs to be scalp hair to blend everything in. Too much beard often looks unnatural with the different contrast between the two types of hair. Beard hair will stay as beard hair wherever it is placed.
I`m heating that people are responding well to oral minoxidil. Maybe it’s something you can check out and consider. Anything that can help the crown out is a plus.
How long ago was your hair transplant?

Hairline may not be bad, doing okay. The crown is a big area as a challenge ofc, the focus will be half upper crown, I usually keep buzz on all sides, they may overharvest scalp a little more than normal, which I can use SMP later camolfage my donor area. I understand that all beard cannot be used, basically HT is just an illusion and artistic skill that a surgeon uses to create a illusion, explaining the hairline you want to keep and hence the reason to visit those doctors in person and see.

It will be an year almost with the first HT. I will look into oral min but for now I've just started oral Fin 1mg, I will continue for three-four months to see.

But honestly for the crown I think, it's just roots are dead.....nothing can revive, learning a lesson from now, I need to take care of my hair. Before my 1st HT, I was not on medications at all, not even min for good 4 years, didn't pay attention and now I am here almost at the end of the road, relaizing that.......things I cannot fix now.....too late. Had I taken like 2% min and fin 1mg alternate days in the past, I could have been saved.

You could be pleasantly surprised how much your crown may improve with the meds. Importantly, they usually prevent or really slow down further loss. 6 months plus is the usual timeframe to see if Finasteride makes any improvements but as I said, maintaining is just as important. If no,sides, me personally I would stay on it if I were you. I have been on Finasteride since 2005.
