Hi,

I'm coming up to 1 month post FUE and am defo now in the ugly duckling phase - lol

I have a lot of really short hairs, yet they are really thick. Some of these are definitely falling out with the longer hairs, but I'm wondering what anyone else's expereince has been with regard to this?

I can't imagine these are the hairs that have shed and that they are growing back already, because it's way too early, but they are too short for them to have been there from when the procedure was done (4 weeks tomorrow), as they would have grown a lot more.

At first I did seem to have a bunch of grafts that had one long hair and one really short hair like this, so perhaps the long hair fell out leaving the shorter one.

Anyway, given it's only been maybe just over a week that things started shedding and I know I have likely another 2 weeks more at least where the shedding will continue....what I'm curious about is whether these hairs are likely to just keep growing, or likely to shed and regrow in a couple of months.

Has anyone else noticed this, and if so how did it play out?

Before anyone comments and decides I need reassuring, I'm not worried about it, I'm just genuinely curious as to what they're doing and what they are likely to go on to do.

Here's a pic. I'm sure it's obvious what I mean, but just to help your eyes tune into them I have pointed a few out. The recipient area is full of them.

Thanks

It could be the hair shaft snapped off at skin level leaving behind what looks like new hairs poking through. Give it a few more weeks to see what happens.

Ah that could make sense. Especially as I did have a lot of hairs fall out that had a fold in them. Which I thought was odd. I guess same thing as you’ve described but the end never actually broke away.

It seems to have stopped shedding now. Which is quite early as only at the 1 mark month and I was expecting it until around week 6.

I’m excited for the next few months when I can see the results coming back again.

Yes, all looks quite normal. Just remember to be patient. We all grow are different rates, some fast, some slow and some in between somewhere.
I`m just about to read your surgery thread updates.
