At 2 months everything looks to be heading in the right direction. Hairline is a little red and in the ugly duckling stage which is quite normal. Your donor looks in excellent shape. Having your beard thicken up with the meds is a plus, hopefully, your scalp is responding too. It won’t be too much longer before you’re reporting some nice hairline growth. You suit the buzzed look. Having your hair uniform after surgery does help.
I take it you have no issues with the oral minoxidil?
Thanks for the update.

Hi BM
Thanks for posting.
No issues at all with the oral
Minoxidil, I feel absolutely fine and the blood pressure is good. I do lots of exercise and it’s not had any affect on that either.
Most definitely hair thickening and growth on the areas I’ve mentioned. Hoping it also works on my Barnet !

That’s good to hear there’s no issues. I’m sure it will help your barnet too. Barnet = head for those who are wondering.

3 month update…
Exactly 3 months today since my procedure.
The redness has gone and although it’s early days growth has slowly started. As you can see from my 2 month update there is a difference.
There are also hairs that can’t be seen on the photo… if I look at my head at an angle under a bright bathroom light then I can see very fine hairs coming through.
it’s a bit patchy with some area showing growth and others areas not yet started but at only 3 months I would say I’m on my way ?
on another note the oral minoxidil has most definitely thickened up my native hair.
I would like to hear opinions ?

Looks good, 3 months is nothing really, many does not have any growth at this stage.

You have now done the annoying and tough part. You are soon entering the most exciting part soon with alot of growth! :)

To add to my 3 months update…
As advised by Dr Bisanga I went on oral minoxidil a couple of months before my procedure.
although the pics are at slightly different angles I though I would post pics showing my crown before my procedure and how it looks today.
There is no doubt I have responded well. My wife started to tell me about 6 weeks ago that my hair was thickening on top and crown .

It definitely looks thicker. Could you try to take another picture at the same angle and lighting as the before picture?

4 Month update -
So 4 months have quickly passed and time for an update.
As I mentioned in my 3 month posted, I had definitely noticed signs of growth.
I think it’s fair to say I have had a good amount of growth since.
Lots of singles in my hairline came through with one area in particular coming very thick and fast. If the rest of my hairline comes through with the same density I will be very happy.
Some areas are a bit behind other areas with the furthest areas of my temples being the thinnest but it seem to be slowly thicken up as each week passes.
I was thinking that perhaps singles come through first but as Ian from BHR pointed out - it’s more of a percentage.
Lots more singles at a higher density are packed in the hairline.
If I would have let my hair grow then it probably would have a better illusion of density at this point but I was happy to keep it short and only leave it to grow once I started to see growth.
I went to the barbers yesterday for my first trim since the procedure. I only had short back and side and totally left the top but I had a nice smile on my face looking in the mirror at my new hairline coming in.
The last time I sat in the barbers chair and he lifted my fringe was a horrible feeling to see how far back I had receded.
I would love to hear your thoughts.

Excellent growth you're having for 4 months. You look like a different person from your pre-op picture which I’m attaching. I remember our private conversations prior to your surgery, all your worries and concerns. They are a thing of the past now.

Getting your hair cut and having that feel good factor is great. Your confidence levels will be significantly higher now. Is it a regular barber you go to or just a random one? What are your friends and family saying?

Hi BM and thanks for commenting.
Friends and family think it’s great.
I have only used the barber once before.
Last Time he didn’t do the best of jobs in my comb over / cover up style which made me look terrible but at least it confirmed how badly I needed it done.
Early days yet and further back On the temples it needs to thicken up and it is thicker in some areas than others but I guess this is the format …
And of course very early days so I’m very happy

Well I’m pleased you were feeling happy with your progress while looking at your hair in the barbers. It’s quite normal for some areas to grow at different rates. You’re an early grower which helps a lot. Good to hear your friends and family are impressed.
Maybe your next update you’ll have a big smile on your face.

Hi folks,
Here is my 5 1/2 month update.
photos and a video comb through to finish off.
I am super pleased with how things have turned out and still not even at 6 months.
It’s very easy to forget how things use to be. It was only a day or so ago when I looked at some old photos and it really dawned on me how my hair use to affect me. Constantly trying to comb my hair in a certain way, never wanted to get it wet , not wanting to look at myself in a mirror.
I agonised for many years about getting a procedure but the only thing I regret is not getting it done a few years earlier.
Having said that though those few years were spent researching and the importance of taking your time is a must . After coming very very close to having a procedure in England I am so so pleased I decided to take the short flight to Dr Bisanga and I cannot thank Ian enough for his constant support.
What are your thoughts folks ?

Your result looks exceptional, that's all I can really say.

If I can ask; how do you source your oral minoxidil and at what kind of prices? I'm looking to be on it long term for my own regimen. As a note side, I have also found it makes my facial hair grow significantly faster similarly to you.
