Can wrong angled hair grafts be repaired and used again ?

I had a disappointing hair transplant several years ago that left me with 2 dozen or more grafts with poor angulation that grow the wrong direction. For sure I now will have them removed with the hope they can be saved because the angles make extracting the graft difficult.

Yes but my understanding is it depends mostly on the angulation - some grafts might be best handled by electrolysis, some might be extracted but the process could damage them, or they all could be salvageable and implanted elsewhere. If these grafts are in the hairline scarring is a concern so ideally youd want to go someone with experience.
Ive seen good results from Cooley in the US, and Bisanga, Feriduni and Mwamba in Europe.

2 dozen grafts isnt that much so it sounds like an easy surgery.

Most are located towards my right temporal corner which severely restricts hairstyle upwards leaving only an option of combing hair in a downward style to cover the bad angles. Cost wise electrolysis might be the best course to take. US is not an option I am willing to undertake. Viewing the recent results it seems Feriduni is the best at repairs.

Having 20 grafts punched out should be easy enough for someone such as Feriduni. How did the rest of the transplant turn out?

Hi, I can understand your concern and issue with your hair style as well as unnatural look. If someone will try to remove all your transplanted grafts in one procedure, there could be white dots (hypopigmentation). Therefore, your extraction procedure may take two procedures so that one should follow the basic principle of FUE , not to remove all grafts, otherwise you will face scar in the extraction points.
To avoid any unnatural look or scar formation, go into phases. First phases remove the half or more grafts so that your temporal area skin heals properly. Second phase after a few months or if these are less, you may also go for a laser hair removal procedure. However, laser removal will permanently destroy your hair.
However, the correction or repair procedure cost is a little bit more. There are few surgeons who can repair nicely otherwise you will get another problem / complication after repair from an inexperienced surgeon or clinic.

Grafts can be punched out and re-used in different areas of the scalp. Sometimes it is difficult to extract them because of the incorrect angles and depths. Having a small number removed may not impact on your result but if it does, you can always add more once it’s safe to do so.
