I remember when I was at school and in science we were told that a human loses 100 hairs per day and this was completely normal. Should we still expect this even after a hair transplant?? It’s a bit scary if we should as 100 hairs is an awful lot to be losing every day

The amount does fluctuate but studies have concluded an average of 100 per day (10%) based on an average of 100,000 hairs on your head. Some people have more than 100,000, blondes for example can have up to 150, 000 hairs meaning they will shed more per day.
As we age most people will experience their hair thinning, no regeneration of the follicle. Your total hair count maybe 50,000 hairs at whatever point, therefor you will shed on average 50 per day.
When you have a hair transplant the follicle/growth cycles are interrupted. Some grafts sleep longer than normal, some were in a different stage of their growth cycle. This is why some have patchy growth, slow growth or even fast growth. During your growth stages after a hair transplant, you could experience a big shed that results in your hair looking worse than the previous month.

I’ve noticed that when I style my hair I get about 3 or 4 lose hairs in my hand. Should I be worried about this or is it normal to lose a few hairs a day due to their growth cycle ??

If I put product in my hair I’ll have quite a few come out.
