I don't have a happy story to tell you guys... I regret getting this procedure done. I feel as if the hairline design of it being really straight and having a very visible density difference with my natural hair beneath doesn't look natural to me. I think this could have maybe worked if the hairline was more "U" shaped. I also believe that the robot has significantly lower yield than compared to a manual punch. Plus I believe I notice some hypopigmentation scarring in the donor that probably wouldn't be there if an actual 0.9mm manual punch was used instead since the robot isn't a true 0.9mm punch since it also uses a 1.2mm one (yikes!). I really wish the clinic talked me out of this as I would have been a much happier camper without any surgery. If I was aware that the ARTAS robot is only FDA approved for straight brown hair, I wouldn't have even done this kind of procedure as my hair color is not brown. I suppose the life lesson here is that the research isn't going to be spoon fed to you. For anybody that is even seriously considering the ARTAS robot for a transplant, I highly recommend reading a thread made by topccat29 regarding robotic FUE.

Sorry to see your situation. Poor growth in the transplant area which can be repaired with another pass, most likely with a different doctor. The extraction holes look way over 1mm, probably the 1.2 you mention. How many grafts were transplanted?
Don't lose hope, a skilled FUE doctor will fix this for you. What are Dr Yates thoughts on your final result?

Hi Pidda, as you are aware the yield/growth is not as it should be. I'd be interested to hear what the doctors opinion/advice is.
Are you now looking to get another HT to sort this out?

I don't want to risk taking more grafts from the scalp... I have a lot of trouble psychologically handling this as it is... either I do nothing or try to reverse it to make it look more natural...

Sorry to hear you`re struggling with this. What did the doctor say the reasons are for the poor growth?

Maybe consult with a few clinics to see which option they think is best for you moving forward.

Having the grafts punched out could be an option depending on how many need removing. I do hope you can find a solution.
Please keep us informed in your progress.
Wishing you well.
Bm.
