1st hair wash is always scary!!

Had my 2nd HT procedure last week and I was still nervous when doing my first hair wash incase I caused damage to the grafts. Being my 2nd procedure I thought I’d be more relaxed this time around but when it came to the morning to wash my hair I could feel the anxiety kick in.

Feel safe in the knowledge that at day 4 - 5 the grafts are secure. Always a good feeling though having that first hair wash after surgery.

Yep it feels totally liberating that first wash. I always feel as though I’m applying to much pressure that’s probably down to the numbness still in the recipient area. Knowing the grafts are secure at days 4-5 is very reassuring. Is there anything that can dislodge a graft at day 7 onwards?

Being hit with a hammer as it’ll take considerable force to dislodge them at this stage. Some people don’t bother massaging at all, they’re super cautious and simply pat the lathered shampoo onto the scalp and rinse it off.

That’s good to know. I don’t plan on doing any sort of hammering any time soon.

Your scalp should be looking pretty clean by now. What shampoo are you using?

Yep it’s looking pretty clean now. Just a few crusts left that I think will go with tomorrow mornings wash. The shampoo I’m using is Seba Med which was in the after care bag from The Hair Dr.

I remember this shampoo now from when you mentioned it before. It seems to work well for you.
