The longer you grow your hair the denser it will look. Fact is, look at the picture when I’ve recentlt shaved my head. Gaps everywhere and the hair line is shocking. Too many people going to this clinic, been charged a fortune and get poor results

I'm sorry you didn't get the results you were hoping for.

I hope your recent surgery gives you what you want. I'm sure others would benefit from knowing who they are, especially as they're lower cost/graft. Did you have the work done in the UK?

Are you able to share pictures showing where they've placed the grafts?

Hopefully others will be able to comment and reassure you of the density you're likely to achieve from the additional grafts.

That's interesting that you were told you did not have 2000 grafts implanted by the Hair Dr, which you paid for. Did your new surgeon work that out from the donor area or recipient area? It could have been that the survival rate of grafts was so low that it appears far less than 2000 grafts. I wonder if this true from some of the other poor results - not enough grafts are being harvested and implanted.

One thing I find concerning, is that this website has shown some inconsistent results from the Hair Dr, but if you look at their social media, they have won quite a few awards! I don't really understand that...

Out of curiosity, why do you not want to reveal the name of your new surgeon?

I hope you get the results you are looking for and that you will be happy with your hair. Fingers crossed for you @D18 !!

Maybe someone could do a quick count using the picture I posted above. I did, and I guesstimated around 2000.

While it's clear the OP is disappointed and feels he didn't get value from his procedure, it worries me when nurses from other practices appear to make claims that another surgery has effectively defrauded a patient.

I'd be very surprised if that were the case and the graft count was less. As you say, yield may have been low but that is a different claim entirely.

The same goes for 'split grafts'. My concern is that the new surgery don't seem to be particularly articulate (to put the most positive spin on this I can).

When you had your surgery with the Hair Dr, who did the extractions? I think there are mixed report on this website where sometimes it's a doctor and other times it's a technician. This surely has an impact on results if an inexperienced technician is performing extractions, given the skill required to extract grafts without damaging them.

Me or @D18 ?

Mine was Dr Arshad and (mainly) Dr Hamza. I believe only the Drs perform extractions.

Sorry, @D18 - there are some cases on here, where technicians performed the extractions.

I do remember one post where that was said. The last I saw was asking which technician performed the work (their pictures are on the web site), but no answer was given.

I remember @Hemingway writing that one of the technicians left, so it is unlikely to be on the website. The other technician was new and I think this was a time when technicians were involved in surgeries without having their references checked, which is stated in the CQC. That in itself is very alarming and might explain some of the mixed results.

When I had my hair transplant, it was a mixture of Dr A and Helen (technician) performing the extractions. At the time I was a little concerned about her involvement, because in my previous surgeries with Dr Raghu Reddy and Dr De Reys, they were the only people to perform extractions.

At the time Hair Dr were getting excellent results and Dr A said Helen was doing lots of extractions. When I met her and discussed her experience, she put me at ease.

I've never heard a bad word said about her, apart from the implication that her leaving was hard felt. She left before my surgery (and I think before @D18's too) so she's unlikely to have been involved.

I’ve even sent the picture to the clinic, they’ve clearly read my message and just ignored it. Absolutely terrible.

Helen was great!! Dr Cole trained her around 20 years ago. She also kept watching the two other technicians to make sure they were doing things properly. I imagine she was a big part of their success in the early days.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully they will respond soon and they might be just considering how to respond. Keep us posted.

where I had to done it’s was like a 5 aside team in there with me. No idea who was doing what. I’m hoping for some money back as I’ve paid a fortune and it’s a shambles

Are you able to share the pictures from your recent surgery? Will be interesting to see the placement and where they've bolstered density?

So I got a reply from the hair Dr after making my complaint.
They know exactly what’s wrong and what my concerns are. They are happy enough to talk over snap chat as long as it’s nothing negatavie about the surgery.
But as this is a complaint that have replied saying they’ll be in touch on 28 days. Unbelievable

Hi @D18, I’m curious if you asked Dr Arshad which surgeon trained him? Or if anybody knows this? I didn’t ask but wish I had before my surgery. Just something I’ve thought about after reading your thread.

Absolutely no idea. But the whole this from start to finish has been a disaster.
Also when I paid my £1000 deposit to book the surgery they made me pay another £1000 on the day.
Wanted my crown doing which they totally ignored and only done my corners and front.
Told me it was 0% apr, but I’m not paying almost 800 more than I should have.
People need to stay away from the place

I’m really sorry to hear this. Did you have a face-to-face consultation or an online consultation? I had a face-to-face with Dr Arshad. It might be harder for him to accurately judge what the number of grafts you require online.

I used their finance too, but I did not pay a deposit as everything was all on finance. I do feel for you, if you’d agreed and then budgeted for a set price, which was then increased on the day.

I really hope you get the result you want with this new HT and think it’s important that people post their experiences on sites like this, so people can make an informed decision about the surgeon they choose.

The consultation was over face time. And to be fair the woman ( I believe it’s his wife) she was lovely. But the procedure and the payment has been a mess. Feel like I’ve threw my money down the drain.
I went for a check up at 6 month and he just kept saying that it was looking good. Basically just to make me think it was.
