A special thank you to Dr Rahal

I just got home from Ottawa. I want to send out a special thank you to Dr Rahal.
I was suppose to have surgery today . Dr Rahal evaluated my head. He then advised me that due to my massive amout of scarring from prior surgeries he could not get any grafts from the back of my head. Also due to the double scarring from my last surgery i have little to no available grafts on the sides. In conclusion he said he could only get maybe a 1000 grafts and that was being optimistic!

I decided that would not make a difference in my amout of hair loss and he agreed so i passed on the surgery.
I thanked him sincerely for the up front honesty. I could only wish the rest of the HT industry was this honest. He refunded my surgery and even advised me of some things to do and see while in Ottawa. Dr Rahal and all his staff were very profession. I was planning to stay a few days to tour the city but decided to return home to Miami today. I can't take cold too well ;)

Thanks Bullitnut,

I agree, I found Dr Rahal to be very honest about my condition. Im a little disappointed as i was hoping for 3 to 4 thousands grafts . Overall im very happy with the meeting with Dr Rahal. I have had a total of 7 strip surgeries by 3 bad doctors so im not really surprised by what he said. Many other doctors in this industry would have scarred me further and taken my money.

I think im now completely done with Hairtransplants.

Gringo sorry to hear about the disappointment and it €™s too bad we didn €™t have the same information that is often available today. It €™s nice to hear that you were dealt with both ethically and honestly. Hopefully we will see the industry continue to move in that direction.

Hey Gringo I would also add that I always read your posts and you seem to be very sensible. I can imagine how you feel as that was always one of my fears that I was beyond hope. I think it €™s only a matter of time before unlimited donor becomes a reality so I wouldn €™t give up hope. You always have to believe it €™s just a matter of time. Really it €™s like winning the lottery or something imagine how that would make you feel, you €™re whole physiology and mood would change and it was only with a thought because you didn €™t have to win in reality. In my opinion it is the same with these issues we face, never give up hope it €™s what keeps us all going.

Sorry to hear you haven't got the donor needed to make a difference to the prior work you had done.

I'm pleased Dr Rahal told you straight and gave you the hard facts, hopefully there will be something in the not too distant future to help you out.

Take care.

Thanks Bigmac!

I'm also very happy Dr Rahal gave it to me straight. I wish all doctors in this profession would put their patients best interest first like Dr Rahal did with me yesterday.
