Hi,

Can I ask how old you are and if your hairloss has stablized in recent years?

It looks to me that you're about a NW4 level but heading to a NW5 soon.

What is it that you would like to accomplish - address front half first or coverage to whole head? Your degree of loss generally need two sessions.


You should check into getting on meds for hair loss.

As you can see from my pics I don't believe in the conservative approach.

Your pattern looks established and your donor hair looks good from the pics. So if I were you I would go for two large strip sessions and get as much as you can each time and try and get a full look with maybe a norwood 3 hairline. Of course this also depends on your finances, donor density and scalp laxity.

So to start I would go for a 4500 plus strip session and do the hairline, frontal third and into the mid scalp.

HTGT, you appear to be at least 30 judging by the few gray hairs on the side. You also seem to be comfortable enough with your appearance that you have waited long enough before deciding to have a procedure. Do you really want a giant scar on the back of your head? Do you really want to take medication for the rest of your life which could easily be another 60 years?

Knowing what I know now and if I was in your position I would only have a fue procedure and certainly not a strip. I would go with your existing hairline and just add some hair behind it. I would leave the crown alone or maybe just dust it with a few hairs.

It €™s very simple you can stick your toe in the water add a few hairs and see what you are getting into in a slow and safe way. Speak to as many people in person and on the phone as possible and understand thoroughly what a hair transplant can accomplish.

Like many other businesses out there people will try and convince you they are the best and most skilled but this is not always true.

Please also be aware that no surgical procedure will leave you scar free. I have seen some pretty bad scars from fue procedures as well as strip in my time on the forums.

You can minimise your chances of getting a poor scar by going to a well respected clinic.

When I decided to tackle my hairloss I wanted to hit it as hard as possible. This meant a HT and the use of meds.

Of course what you do will depend on what type of person you are and what goals you want to achieve.

El Nino I understand where you are coming from. Many patients are looking for that instant wow result. But that wow result could very well be wow what the hell happened to you and that is why I don €™t recommend it.

I also have had approximately 800-900 fue removed from my face and chest and I have zero white dotting. All clinics are not created equal.

Of course results vary and no one is guaranteed a wow result and there are only half a dozen top clinics in the world.

In answer to jana it seems to just be a gradual thing but id say ive really noticed the difference the last 3 years or so, however as discussed with big mac (who also kindly spent over an hour talking to me and took the photos thanks mate realy appreciate it) idont know really what to do just shve it off and get on with life or go for ht and as said be on meds for rest of life so thats why ive posted i currently have £4500 saved up so not sure how many grafts id get for that and if it would make a significan difference.

Id prefer if possible just to have one big procedure rather than repeat visits ive checked out big macs scars and i think if mine were like that i could easily live with that as you had to really search and look hard to notice anything out of the ordinary, i have to say i was massivly impressed with the work carried out on him and even under very close scrutinay there is no way you thin k hed done anything however im more than happy to admit to it if it loooked that good, girls have boob jobs n get no grief so why should i especially as i say if it looked as good as his.

Im thinking (because of travel and the feedback n results they achieve) going to brussels and using bhr.

does anyone have a good link for meds where they get theres from.

So your hairloss has gotten worse the last 3 years. This isn't good news, the longer your hair is stable before a HT the better.

Also, £4500 is nowhere near enough money to make a difference with your degree of loss. Unless you go to some unknown Doc who charges a £1 a graft, which I really don't recommend.

My advice is to start the meds, keep saving and researching HTs. Dr. Bisanga is a good choice if you do decide to get one and is one of only a few Doctors who I would let touch my head.

P.S I get my finasteride from a site called United Pharmacies.com and it is the generic proscar called fincar. 5mg tabs which I cut into quarters.

Whether you choose us, another good clinic or decide to not go down the HT route what is important is to take your time, way up all the pros and cons, speak to as many past patients as you can.

Shave it off, go to the barbers get a zero mil all over. Then spend 50 quid on a decent pair of clippers wahl,oster,andis to keep it up yourself.If you go down the H.T route , your future will consist of hair greed just that one more op it will be never ending . Guys in there 40 ´s with a shaved head perfectly normal..

I can totaly appreciate the shave it off attitude but obviously this aint something im happy with or wanting to do.

savini why are not happy with your ht's? who did you use for your procedures and how long ago i only ask as i cant understand why youd be ona pro hair loss forum, but im hoping it aint because you think just because it didnt work for you that it wont work for every one. Do you have a cross to bare?

Please dont take those questions the wrong way as obviously i do want to know the pros and the cons..is it possible you used a poor surgeon?

zionaxel.. again i can understand your shave it off bit and by god i wish i could just do it i tried it once to a level 2 before i went on holiday (as nobody there would know me) and also so i had tanned head when i came back as with darker skin tone shaved heads dont look bad but i just couldnt get away with it infact i shocked myself every time i looked in the mirror lol..

elnino ive ordered my fincar alot cheaper than i expected got a years supply posted for £60...unless ive worked it out wrong lol..so gonna try them and keep saving in the meantime..

Any other opinion especially from bhr patients really appreciated, i must add that though ive just put my pictures up this week i have been resaerching since 2009 so im pretty confident im happy with who is doing what and to what degree of success.
