Affordable hair transplant

How much do hair transplants cost? I live in London and would love to have a full head of hair like Wayne Rooney but when I read more it cost him £30,000 which quite frankly is way out of my reach. I could tasted a clinic in London who advertise on the tube, they told me I can regrow my hair without the need for a surgical procedure but the costs were £1500 per month. How can people afford these things? Or is it only the rich and famous who have the money to pay for it? There's a clinic who guarantee results but they charge £100 just for a 30 minute consultation which is quite a chunk of my wage. Why are these procedures so expensive?

I would stay well away from any clinic who claim they can regrow hair without surgery. Your best bet is to either post pics of your current hair and I'm sure some of the knowledgable people here will give you some advice. Alternatively contact some of the clinics recommended on here for advice and a quote for surgery. You definitely wouldn't need to pay £30k!

Those prices seem a lot more reasonable than what I thought it would be. I could not afford the non surgical option I was quoted. I'll co tact some of the clinics I see here for a fairer price.

Take your time researching and don't believe the media prices quoted, they are just attention seeking headlines.
As others have said there are plenty of clinics to consult with.

In Europe Belgium appears to be the place to go. There are several very good clinics including the newest doctor I'm working with, Dr. Lupanzula. He's very affordabel at ‚¬4.5 per FUE graft and he performs the extractions and incisions himself.

Don't believe the prices stated in the media because everything costs thirty thousand pounds these days. For starters there are some reasonably priced good surgeons on here.

It really does vary depending on the country, the doctor, the type of procedure you want, how many grafts you need, etc. There's no way to give you a definite answer, but I can assure you that hair transplants are not just for the rich and famous.

Start researching some doctors and don't limit yourself to one geographical location. That'll be a great starting point for you.

Thanks guys. Digging deeper it would appear the figures quoted by the media are excessive, I've looked at several clinic websites who list prices similar to the ‚¬4.50 Euro. I'll keep looking before I decide what to do next.

Rooney never paid £30k for his hair transplant, it's a load of nonsense, and his hair doesn't look that good either.

Don't pay anything for a consultation either.

I realise the price quoted by the media is way off unless he was given some sort of Royal treatment which I doubt. It's hard to judge his hair as he uses concealer of some sort.

Price and quantity do not mean quality. Take your time to research before you make a final decision.

Cost is very often a matter of location. Some locations are just very costly to do business as in New York.


I have given this example in the past in regards to dental work. My wife has arranged for several people to have major dental work performed in the Balkans. The results were absolutely fantastic and those dental patients were very pleased. One person had all had all his teeth capped which would have cost him $20K here in the States . His total cost there was about $1500 for exactly the same procedure using exactly the same materials less the travel expenses. The cost of doing business there is very low for many reasons but it does not mean the dentist is less skilled. My wife knows this dentist so she can vouch for him and anyone that knows my wife knows that she is an honest person with a heart of gold and they learn that very easily over time. She did not make any money for helping these people out. She may in the very near future and has been working towards that goal but it would be a big life change so slow and steady.

One also has to consider the currency exchange rate. For example the dollar is close to parity with the euro which makes doing business in Europe for those using dollars less expensive along with other countries of the world. For Americans the stronger dollar buys more outside the country at least for now.

Hi Chelsea Boy, you are getting some great advice, the most important thing in having a hair transplant is getting a great result, so be sure you are 100% confident you will achieve this from whoever you decide; cost in most situations is very important but make sure your result is the main reason for your choice as it will last a lifetime.
Also; other factors that need to be considered is your donor area and will you have enough hairs to cover the entire head with the density you want; so the quality of your donor area will be a big factor in the hair transplant also.

I have had my four transplants with DHI Global and they are all over the UK; you should have a free consultation and see what they offer; I have been very satisfied with their work and just had my last hair transplant last Friday; you will be sure to get a great result.

Just be confident, happy and sure wherever you decide; there are many guys here who can give you some advise on making the best decision for you.

If you have photographs of your hair, donor area we can advise you on the possible options best for you; are you taking any medication?

I tried Rogaine foam which I believe gave me headaches after several weeks so I ceased using it, tried Fincar which affected my libido so I ceased using this too.
I've been eating a healthier diet, currently using Saw Palmetto with no problems to date although I have no idea if it's helping prevent more hair loss.
