Afro hair transplant. Hows my donor? What should my action plan be?

I am afro Indian, I have afro hair, im not concerned about having a straight hairline, I'm happy with a mature hairline.

How does my donor area look? Once my hair grows out it is quite thick.

I have a strong and full beard also lots of body hair. My grandfather was nw6 my father is nw4. I am 34.

Skeptical of fin due to current issues.

Your donor looks quite decent. Your loss looks quite minimal which won’t require that many grafts to establish a mature hairline.
If you’re not able to take Finasteride you could check into topical Finasteride or possibly oral minoxidil. If you have an I person consultation, they should check the health of your hair and advise accordingly.
I’d say you could possibly achieve your goal with around 1000 grafts. Thd hair curl will help with the density.

Yes something like this. I've always had an afro and not concerned about a crispy hairline. I would rather save my donor area for future hair loss than waste hair on a crispy hairline.

I'm not too concerned about I'm hair being super dense as most people in their 40s do not have super dense hair anyway.

Is using beard hair an option? I have a full and thick beard which is similar texture to my head hair.

Yes that line is fine, I like you did not waste grafts on the temples. Temples can come after when I'm 40-50 no point using all donor on the temples and then have no grafts for midscalp.

Is fue an option? Do you have any pictures of what fue scars look like on black head when bald.

Do you know how dense my hair is per sq cm? And how dense I should aim to ensure I get good coverage in the midscalp if necessary.

Afro donor hair density can range between 40-60 FU cm² in general. But the natural hair characteristics of the coarse hair shaft and curl add to the look of fullness. Especially when grown out. Although, these positive hair characteristics can work against when extracting the grafts. The corkscrew nature of the hair below the skin makes it harder to punch and extract. Without damaging the grafts. You should also consider your healing properties. Whether scars stretch, or if you are susceptible to keloid scarring.

It would look like the design that Bigmac suggested would be feasible. While not wanting to use FIN it would be worth considering any other regime of meds. At your age and with your family hair loss history. It would make sense to try and reduce the risk of needing further surgery for a few reasons. Also, worth having your donor checked in person, including any scarring. Good luck.

Beard hair is an option but not in the hairline. Use it as a filler further back. Scars on darker skin are usually more prominent. Some clinics are doing donor restocking which means they’ll replace as many Fue extraction sites with beard hair or there’s the option of SMP.
Density wise, you’ll need an in-person consultation to have this checked and confirmed by a doctor.
