I`d be happy with his hair but as you know hairloss effects us all in different ways, some people just want to better themselves for whatever reasons.

As long as he does plenty of research, knows the risks and benefits, its then down to him to decide what he really wants.

This site gives him both opinions so hopefully it will help him make his choice either way.

Cheers Bm.

I don't see why a man of 40 has any less need for a procedure of this sort than a man of 25 or 30. The cosmetic improvement is the same regardless of age, and having hit 40 doesn't have to mean that appearance no longer matters.

My opinion is that it is a personal choice. What is most important is that you understand the procedure and the industry inside and out. You must become your own expert no matter how long it takes. If you do not take this aspect seriously you could easily end up maimed. That disfigurement could draw stares from the general public and cause the patient a high level of discomfort around friends and family. Many patients that have chosen the wrong clinic have become reclusive while all too often others contemplate suicide. That is the cold hard reality of this business.

So you may now be asking why would a clinic that is not qualified to be performing hair transplantation at its highest level continue to stay in business while knowingly destroying the lives of young men day in and day out. For many including myself it is very difficult to understand. Do they need the money that badly? Using the word phychopath seems a bit strong but phychopaths have the ability to block out emotions. They know it is wrong but they feel no guilt. A psychopath wants to control and manipulate people. This control factor I have often seen in many HT doctors, ask too many questions and it instantly appears and I find it personally amazing to watch. Psychopaths can be very persuasive and are very adept at lying this is why the very young are often easy prey.

Become your own expert and get a sense of the character of the person you are dealing with before making any decision. Everything that person does in his or her daily life to others around them tells you who they are and know that you in turn you will be treated no differently. Don €™t take any short cuts as cosmetic surgery is serious business.

Psychopathic traits to watch for when researching. This is not a joke as I have seen several of these traits in quite a few doctors.

· superficial charm

· self-centered & self-important

· deceptive behavior & lying

· conning & manipulative

· little remorse or guilt

· shallow emotional response

· callous with a lack of empathy

· living off others or predatory attitude

· poor self-control

· impulsive lifestyle

· irresponsible behavior

· blaming others for their actions

Does anybody else think that this is a perfect hairline for a 40 year old? Why give hope to someone who really does not need a hair transplant?

Hey there,
Can i just clarify when you say 'hope' you mean that this would not be possible? My original hairline is around .5cm lower in the center but more importantly about 2 cm at the temples.I would simply like to restore this.

Is it not down to the individual what their needs are?

cheers
chris

Chris,

It most certainly is possible. People base their opinions on their own experiences. So the guys who have received poor HTs from crappy Doctors will be overly cautious. And the guys who went to a World Class Doctor with a virgin scalp will be overly optimistic. There is a good medium in between overly cautious and overly optimistic.

I fall into the overly optimistic category because I went to Dr. Rahal for my first HT.

Looking at your pics you seem to be a good candidate for a FUE procedure to fill in your temples.

Chris you are a good candidate because of you age and donor. At 40 you have more world experience than someone in their 20 €™s that can easily be taken advantage of because of their inexperience and naiveté. You more than likely understand there are people out there that are more than willing to take your money without giving you the quality you had expected. Just ask plenty of questions when consulting and if something doesn €™t seem right go with what your gut says and move on. In order to ask the right questions you have to understand the procedure and the industry. Some things in life you can take a chance on like hiring a plumber for instance. If you do not know much about plumbing than the plumber can easily pick up on this and depending on their level of integrity you are either going to get someone honest or someone that is going to take you to the cleaners. No harm done as it will not leave you disfigured. Cosmetic surgery must be taken very seriously no different than brain surgery. You do not shop around for brain surgeon based on location, price, etc and you ask plenty of questions. You need to have only the best of the best.

I place ht patients in 2 categories those that are knowledgeable and experienced and those that know very little. The less you know the more likely the outcome will not be very good. The more you know the more likely the outcome will be very good. All ht patients are optimistic but optimism does not provide one with a great result.

You will be dealing with people that will try and convince you that they know what they are talking about, unless you yourself know than you are open to deception. Just recently I got into a discussion with a ht doctor that has been performing surgery for 31 years. He claimed the human head had 200,000 hairs and that if 75% was lost leaving only 25% of donor, 50% of that donor could be harvested by way of FUE. Those numbers are completely off the wall and not even close to reality. But this is an example of what you will be dealing with. Unless you yourself are knowledgeable than you could easily have a very poor outcome.

Good luck in your research.

I do agree with what you said about how are views can depend on wether we had gone to a crappy Doctor or a world class one .
Im fairly sure if i had gone to Bisanga in my mid 30 ´s with a virgin scalp he would of most likely told me due to my hair being fine that coverage with FUE i would not get great coverage, i hope i would of shook his hand and left it at that.
Some of my views may come across as cynical but i learnt the hard way.

If hairloss bothers people enough and they feel a H.T is there only option then fair enough as long as you understand this will now occupy your life for the rest of it.

No worries zionaxel. I can totally understand how someone who's had poor work performed on them will be more cynical.
It is a fact that people base their opinions on their own experiences. But it can be hard for some people to see this.

Chris,

You are looking in all the right places. Thanks to sites like this people can be well informed before making a decision and jumping in.

I am fairly certain that none of the Surgeons above will butcher you. But it is surgery though, which means results are not guaranteed to be good.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Chris I thought I was making good decisions 25 years ago. Each HT surgeon was promoted in some way. Several had full length article write ups in several different magazines. That was the media of the day and most trusted what they were reading me included.

Fast forward to today and now the internet is the media of the day and most people trust what they are reading. I can assure you many of the top doctors of today are no different than the top doctors of yesterday. What is different is that there are independent people such as myself and others that make a point of not letting the bullsh*t slide without speaking up. Sure many clinics do not like this and there is a reason that they feel this way.

Do yourself a favor. You listed 3 clinics, why not increase it to 10 in fact why not increase it to 100 several can be done online. With each additional interaction you learn something valuable even if you go to a clinic that is known to be very bad. Go to that bad clinic and consult. See how they operate and watch the body language very valuable stuff. The more you do this the better your chances are of having a very good outcome.

It €™s like anything else in life the more experience you have the better you eventually become and you don €™t have to necessarily get into the chair to gain that experience.

Good luck to you.

What a Tool
I see. I thought you had something to do with plastic surgery. I will come to you after my next HT - where are you based? It gets embarrassing explaing things after a HT.
