I´m sure he must be happy with the change now. Is there a thinning footballer that hasn´t approach a hair transplant clinic in the last few years lol I think Wayne Rooney opened the door, his hair hasn´t turned out too great, he´s been using concealers for a long time now.

I disagree with this. I have been to see Dr. May recently and he was very nice, honest and professional in the consultation
Well first of all I never mentioned anything about Dr May. The original article didn't state who performed the surgery.
I commented that Wimpole Clinic "doesn't have a great reputation" which is a true statement.
Have a search on hrn (for example) and you will find that the clinic has a chequered history with plenty of negative comments on there.

Following the reading of your comment, I was concerned and asked some of the other doctors I have seen if they happened to know of Wimpole/Dr May and their work. Unanimously the competition referred to him as an excellent doctor and one of the most experienced in the game. Farjo, who people refer to very highly on forums, were ones who stated how good and experienced he was.
I couldn't care less if a surgeon comes across as nice, honest and professional or what his mates in the industry think. Doctors will very rarely say anything negative about colleagues in their profession, so I don't put too much stock into that.
I'm only interested in documented results and patient testimonials, not hearsay and opinions.

I think it is wrong of you to make statements about a clinic & doctors work when you, quite clearly, do not have the knowledge or station to be making such derogatory claims.
Nonsense - I totally refute that. I do have knowledge of the subject and the derogatory claims are out there whether you like it or not.
Furthermore (since you keep banging on about Dr May) have a search hrn and you will also find that Dr May has a chequered history with plenty of poor reviews - including negative comments from notable contributors like Spex and Garagelend.
Of course, nothing stays the same forever and Clinics / Surgeons can improve, but if there is a history of poor work it can take a long time to build confidence and shake off the effects of a dodgy reputation.

Rob Holding has had excellent work done by Wimpole - end of.
Again, stop twisting things round to suit your own narrative. I didn't criticize or pass comment on Rob Holdings hair.
For the record, I do think he's got a decent result, but as Joe Tillman points out, you would want better photographic evidence for a proper judgement.
That said, If I'm Rob Holding, with plenty of money and fragile mental health, I would be seeking out the absolute best in the industry. I wouldn't be taking a chance on a clinic with a (previous) shady reputation

Guys. Please don’t take this thread out of context. We don’t know which doctor did the transplant. Because the clinic is owned by a non doctor, I find they usually don’t disclose the doctors name. Dr May resigned as a director and a shareholder in April 2019. I believe the doctors who work there are freelance/self employed. Some will have their own clinics but a quick search will show they usually work for various outlets. I think one of the doctors who I`ve never heard of mIght only work out of there.
If anyone wishes to use the clinic, then by all means do your research.

@UnicornHorn It would be great if you could start a topic regarding your research, add some info/pictures about your hair loss situation etc.

They all look similar to what’s posted already. If I was the clinic I would show his surgery pictures and some videos.

There are countless more photos of him that can be seen via his public Instagram page. They look decent.

Hi Gambler - think I owe you an apology for a message that came across too critical. Having come to these forums to try and find useful information, I have found they confuse matters more than they assist, as people are so often stating or repeating opinions as if they were facts, and even more often, speaking with a heavy bias due to their own experience not meeting their warped expectations. However, you're right and my message was too harsh. I apologise, and wasn't looking to offend.

I do believe it is possible to assess an individuals competence and integrity to some degree through an in person consultation, and Dr May was exceptionally professional and honest. I also do not believe other highly regarded doctors would praise an individual if they had any reservations about their abilities. Dr May is still the lead surgeon at Wimpole and I have nothing but good things to report about him and his team from my consultations. It was disconcerting to read your negative comment about the clinic and, upon further investigation, I have found that there are negative comments around on pretty much every clinic out there, including some of the most praised clinics. Farjo are one of the most praised clinics around, as far as I can gather, and there is content posted online that denigrates them viciously.

It is a difficult topic on which to gather any meaningful assistance, it seems, as people who go into surgery with wholly unrealistic expectations come on these boards, or other social media, and state that clinics are incompetent when it is actually just their resentment driving the comments.

I think it is important people only state facts, and do not repeat other peoples opinions unless they know that opinion is legitimate.

I am proceeding with Dr Williams at Farjo and I will start a thread about the journey. All the best

Hi Bigmac - I will do. I am proceeding with Farjo soon. I will document it all including photos.
