Hi Baldspot.

Thanks for keeping us updated,you are looking right on track with where you should be.It appears that most of the scabs have gone in your 10 day post op pictures.

Are you finding it easy to cover the work with your hair and will you be using any concealer on your crown until the new hair grows.

How was the staple removal,did it hurt at all?

Hi Bigmac,

Yes it feels good. Scabs all were gone by Day 10. Long hair does make it easy to cover things - although for the pics I'm brushing it to the sides and wetting it to let you see better.

Staples were ok. I'd go for them again. By day 10 it was good to get them out though. Simple process and some hurt more than others but nothing really. I did make sure I'd washed the donor as well as I could to ease away any blood that might still be there (I washed it every day too) so that helped.

Will be using concealer and getting a trim late next week.

Sure, I'll take some donor pics - probably on Monday - which will be two weeks Post Op. Getting a trim later in the week so will try and show the coverage then.

Hey Baldspot,

I think your in for a VERY nice transformation here when all is said and done. Everyone knows that the hair line is THE most aesthetically essential area as it frames your face & is the most noticeable area of loss; & this is the primary area of your loss & received the most grafts. Your new hair line is going to radically alter the appearance of your profile, take years off of your face, and afford you many more styling options. Also, your hair has a very nice natural wave/curl to it. This will exponentially aid in the illusion of density; not to mention the fact that you have quite a bit of native hair left on top to work with. It's not as though you were a slap skinned bald NW5-6. Your scar/closure appears very clean as well.

BTW how old are you & how long have you been on meds? if for a while, have they halted your loss?

I'm sure you already know this, but honestly don't listen to what other people say regarding ht's. The general public is SO misinformed about ht's, how they work, how far the technology has come, and MPB in general. For example, when discussing my ht w/my sister and brother in law, my brother in law said---"but if your hair didn't grow there (hair line/top of head) before why would it now?"...;;D

Then just this afternoon I hung out w/my sister for the first time since my operation. i took my hat off to show her my head...I *knew*....I just fu$king KNEW what she was going to say, given her personality....first came the shocked, repulsed look on her face----"eeEeeEEeEwWwWWwW!!!!"....then, what I KNEW she was going to say & consequently how pissed I would be---"your hair line is in the SAME place (?)"..._B: "that's it?...I thought it would be down here (gesticulating to the hair line of an 18 year old boy)"...:whatever:...of course, subsequently I dragged her up to my pad and forced her to look at before and after shots of my hair line so that I could appease my own need for verification that the hairline was indeed THAT much improved. >C>::

Anyway, people in general are so misinformed and insensitive when it comes to a topic such as this, she didn't even realize that YES lowering -AND- rounding my hair line even by a centimeter (or whatever it is) is THAT important to me; you would think given the fact that family and friends are aware of how much money, time, and emotion you invest into the operation that they would also be equally aware of how important it is to you. Sorry for the long rant, I guess I'm just trying to say people (outside of the ht world ) really know nothing about it & furthermore people who don't suffer significantly from hair loss can't appreciate what it means and can do for those of us who under go it.

Thanks - yes I think it's looking very good so far. I'm 40 and I've been on Finasteride since 1998, just about to start doing the Rogaine Foam on Monday again. Yes I'm a big fan of Finasteride it's definitely worked for me to hold things - I had/have the same loss pattern as my father. He was pretty much all done on top by my age.

Sorry about your sister. You're absolutely right - most people don't know anything about HTs. Why should they I guess? It's important to us not them - unless THEY ever started to lose it of course.

I was lucky - in that once it was clear I was definitely going to get it done my family were very supportive. But not at first.

Hi Folks,

Another update. That's exactly two weeks since my op.

First I'll post the usual shots with a few of the donor (cos Bigmac asked) then some photos of the hair dry. Bear in mind I usually use concealer on my crown and I don't have it on in these photos. With it - you wouldn't be able to tell I'd had anything done - amazing. Great work by Team Ron. Thank you.
