ok so you guys have all seen the horrible bumps i got from doctor and i have a theory in mind that wont completely make the head perfect but may improve it somewhat.

i know that if a transplant is done correctly no apparent scarring can be seen.

so what about fue out each bump 1 by 1 and replace with tissue from somewhat else that was already fued out. at the correct depth this time so no bump?

same goes for removing the bump that still have hairs and placing them into another balding area then putting a new graft from where it was removed correctly so you now have a hair in the area but now with no bump.

i think the reason why i am still loosing transplanted grafts is because of how shallow the grafts that sit on the bumps are as there gradually bulling away from the scalp. let me know what you guys think on this because if the bumps area could be made flat then maybe i might get better results from other things like fraxel or chemical peel too.

inputs are much appreciated hope Jenna from smg and anyone from BHR can input on this too. thanks

Why cant you just punch them out and leave the punch outs heal on their own, after removing pitted grafts the skin heals flat, removing cobblestoning may heal flat too so i dont see the point in putting tissue back into a fue punch out hole.

Yeah I'd of thought you wouldn't need to replace the tissue, it will just heal flat, some of my grafts had pitting but now some of them have been removed, it's healed flat.

did you not get any sort of scaring when you had the pits removed as im quite pale and tend to scar. do you think ACELL would help incorporating it with the procedure.

I didn't get any scarring, you wouldn't be able to see where they were taken from under magnification.

my only concern is obviously my hair was made too low at one side and im planning to have that corrected, but that will reveal area of forehead that's got the bumps so wont be covered by hair. at the moment im hiding it all with having fringe down rather than up. but im worried because of my complexion i may make it worse going into the area again. i think if i were to go ahead with what you suggest to just do a test patch first and to see how the skin heals and then if works out well just to small amounts at a time so the area doesn't have to struggle with multiple trauma giving it better chance to heal.

Hi Balboa,

What Mars and Sparky suggested of punch outs is what our doctors would likely do to make the surface of your skin look better. There's just no guarantees since each person heals differently. Doing a test section is a very good idea.

One side of your hairline is lower so replacing grafts to the low side isn't something you'll probably do but punch out grafts on both sides, then a session or two of dermabrasion to even out your skin is Dr. Shapiro's recommendation. The right side is higher currently so there's room to transplant grafts after punch outs and dermabrasion. With more transplanted hairs on the right, it'll be difficult to see any cobblestoning even if there is a little bit remaining. The left side you wouldn't plant many grafts - just enough to soften the hairline but graft behind it. You'd want to make the density on both sides even out to make your hair line look more symmetrical.

Replacing punch outs with another graft would be risky in healing and hair growth. Whenever you do a punch out- there's still a chance of leaving stem cells that can grow out a hair as you don't always get everything punched out.

Any type of skin impairment can cause problems when going back into the same area, be it placing more grafts around the area or removing grafts, there is no certainty cobblestoning, ridging, pitting is going to reduce for example by removing grafts. In most cases graft removal can be a multi op procedure, not all grafts will be in the active growth phase, some may not remove and even regrow. Then if the placement is close it is not always correct to remove all anyway and leave adjacent grafts so as to try and attain the best healing possible in an area already impaired.

Can someone explain to me why balboa has cobblestoning to begin with?i know its from a large graft and a smaller incision but this is not mirco or mini grafts these grafts balboa has are one hair cobblestoned grafts so whether untrimmed or not was the incisions made just way too small or what?

Thank you to both clinics for inputs i will keep those opinions close to hand when deciding what to do.

to mars the reason why i have the bumps is because Dr Armani did not place the grafts deep enough. they have placed my grafts like eggs in tray rather than at the same level of my scalp

Also to JENNA from what you advised me. has your clinic ever suggested this to anyone else in the past and did you see the results of the dermabrasion on the cobblestoning. and because hardly any of the grafts are left and even less left at the lower side how many grafts would you estimate me needing to look good as i think a slightly thicker hairline might be needed to counteract the scars.

Balboa as far as im aware grafts are always placed a bit higher so as not to create a pit,the surplus tissue above the skin on the scalp dries into a scab and then flakes off,i doubt any clinic tries to place the grafts perfectly flushed with the level of ones scalp that would take too long and probably impossible.

well i think everyone knows what im getting at. the bumps shouldn't be there so however they do it it should heal flush and flat not bumpy like it has. this is not an isolated case either i know 4 other people the clinic did this too. its too shallow grafts end of. i don't care how the good docs make it heal properly and flush its irrelevant to this thread im just wanting it fixed

We have advised others. Aside from punch outs & dermabrasion, we also recommended laser hair removal on a particular patient. It made a big difference on him. Keep in mind that one type of treatment doesn't necessarily work on another patient due to skin texture and color. Taking small steps or test sections is best.

We'd estimate approx 500-600 grafts at the hairline but it can certainly change if seen in person.

Balboa i wasnt been an ass saying you are wrong in your theory it just amazes me how a doc at this day of age can give cobblestoning via fue, armani is useless but i can guarantee gordon ramsey will look top notch.

I would get the punch out debrassion and laser if i was you.

Du get any white dotting from armani

i know you wasn't trying to be an ass but yea in this day and age its hard to believe but that's what you get for rushing.

There were 3 procedures all going on at same time like a production line. i was in the middle of 3 rooms. i arrived at the clinic at 7.30am and Dr Armani didnt show till gone 9.00am.
He rushed me through the pre-opp consultation and we went straight on to the extraction. 3 or 4 Asian techs stared removing grafts then when that was done i went to have food i think it was about 1-2pm by this point.

Anyways i was sat with the grafts out for about 2 hours and Dr Armani and others kept saying wont be long we will be with you shortly and at 1 point while i was waiting Dr Armani was shouting at someone in another room getting mad about something.

About 4pm Dr Armani finally came into my room and started drawing the hairline on my head. it took him 2 minuets and then he passed me this tiny hand held bathroom mirror to see if i agreed. at the time i was under anesthetic and i could not see my entire face in this mirror so i just trusted it was correct.

He started the incisions in hairline. this took about an hour or 2 and then he left and the Asian techs came back in and started placing the grafts into the Hairline.

At one point the 2 two techs who were talking in Chinese to each other started getting inpatient with each other and 1 was telling the other to shush while the other then sighed.

At 10-30 to 11pm i was done. you forget i arrived at 7.30am and i wasn't leaving till 11pm. for only 2500grafts due to all the waiting around and Dr Armani rushing around like a headless chicken.
i then questioned the hairline design to Miguel Lara one of the post opp team and he said the appearance of it may look odd but don't worry.

Anyways i know 100% Dr Armani rushed my procedure and im not the only one who has been left with these bumps, there is at-least 5 others on NTN.

PLUS this is not just about the bumps i now only have about 20% grafts left from so called 2500. so poor yield also.

whether or not Gordon Ramsey turns out well is irrelevant. i asked Dr Armani about celebs while in the chair to make conversation and he said that the celebs may big bucks (his words) and that just he and his sister do the entire procedure so no techs whatsoever. talk about separating the rich from the poor. if Gordon Ramsey is too good for these techs not to be allowed near him then i should be too.

just to make clear so i don't offend people unintentionally that when i was saying Armani had Asian techs. i was just referring to my my experience at the clinic so anyone who has been there can clarify that what i say is accurate. i have nothing against Asian techs i think most of the top clinics use Asian techs from what i have learned and i personalty think it was not the techs fault at the Armani clinic 100% i think it was Dr Armani fault for not creating the recipient holes deep enough.
