Hi mate, sorry to hear of your situation. I'm assuming from your name you're a fellow Glaswegian. I'd be curious to see the clinic quantify the number of grafts. If they took 3500 how many were singles, doubles and triples, and did all 3500 get implanted into the recipient site. Was the procedure driven by a surgeon or technicians mate? It looks to me like a third of what they're saying. I'm not a believer in the sometimes this happens, sometimes this doesn't take. A highly experienced and reputable surgeon will always properly evaluate the patient, not over harvest, manage expectations and therefore yield good results.
Hi tam, that's the kind of info I'm looking for cosmedica to display, singles, doubles etc etc. I think BM had asked cosmedica to respond to me on this. It was techs who did the biggest majority of the op, infact apart from drawing the hairline and doing the slits the techs done everything. I do recall 1 tech in particular saying very good 2 hairs and 3 hairs, and that was when they just started extracting. I thought " magic " it will be all worthwhile, this was after getting somewhere between 50- 60 injections. I didn't take well to them at all, I really don't like needles. Now cosmedica are saying we would like to do another surgery "you have guarantee good result" as if i can just drop everything fly a total of 6000 miles, lose another months wages and have a never ending supply of donor hair.

Hi Lisbon I'm sorry to see this result! Cosmedica are a con job so is so called Doctor Acar and Levant, you should destroy any reputation they have for what they have done to you. I'm only 4 months in seeing some growth but I'm preparing for the worst case scenario. if only I had seen this before I went. What are you going to do?
Hi bud, all the people that have been to cosmedica, I don't think I've read anybody met DR Acar? He's a myth. It is a con, I was at that particular time, also speaking to dr kul, who does the surgery himself from start to finish, however was put off as he regards himself as a plastic surgeon rather than a Ht surgeon. i really don't know what to do tbh?? I know I need to get repaired, and there is a perfectly good place in Glasgow, but believe it or not it's the thought of going through it all again.

Yes I can understand it's been a long year for you man! I feel like the last 4 months have dragged in! Whatever you do now Lisbon you need to disregard the price and go to the best! From what I know Dr Bisanga or Hasson and Wong are the best! It may cost you a lot but I don't think you will regret it if they fix the problem! Otherwise you will have a physical reminder of what happened! You should take your next step very seriously! I wish you all the best man! I know if mine turns out badly I will make sure Cosmedica pay for it some way or another!

Thanks m8, yeah it will take me a long time to save and go to a top surgeon, but knowing I will be in safe hands is priceless. I wish I had done what I was going to do and keep putting cash away and wait till this year to do the op, instead of jumping the gun, and taking the cheap option, but as you know, and everybody who's been to cosmedica knows their offer is just too good. I hope any body who's looking into cosmedica comes across my experience and realises that going to cosmedica is like playing Russian roulette. I really hope yourself and the rest of the lads on here get a tremendous result.

Sorry you've recent a result like this, must be disheartening to say the least. I hope you can find a good repair doctor to fix it.I've been saving for two years to raise enough for my surgery, probably be saving another two until I have enough. I too was tempted by cheaper surgery until I realised it was too good to be true. Fortunately I held off, I found the forums by chance whilst checking out YouTube videos, so glad I did now after reading your story.
May I ask, how you come across Cosmedica? And what swayed you to go there(excluding the price)?

Hi martinman, To answer your question, I fell for all the marketing and enticements, they play on people, the price too Played a key part make no mistake about it. However this is probably the biggest regret of my life., and it frustrates me and angers me for making a terrible decision. Anyway going back to your question.. A high density FUE maximum graft with guaranteed results, it seemed a no brainer!! I couldn't find anything negative whatsoever about cosmedica, there were also 2 lads on here who went just before me, mickeyblue and papuzon, and their fue work looked good. Hope this clarifies. Also I hope more people like yourself who are researching come across my experience, cos it's not a good thing to go through

I just looked at Mickey on here. His first topic has most comments and pictures edited away by himself, this is concerning. His other topic is intact with a good result. He praises the clinic tremendously in his first post, I briefly skipped through it all. Maybe he works to promote the clinic. Will you ask for your money back? I don't think you should go back for more work with them, it could go wrong again. Russian roulette with your hair.

Hi martinman, Im not interested in getting the money back, and I have no intentions of going back to turkey either, once bitten twice shy. my donor area was over harvested that is my main concern now with regarding a repair, which I know will need to be done. If I could turn back the clock I would have just Kept my head shaved.

Iv been speaking to another surgeon, he asked for pictures, I sent him pictures of face on, crown and donor area, I explained that I needed a repair, he responded by saying he couldn't repair as I don't have enough donor hair? Surely that can't be right? I have really thick hair and it was only 3500 grafts taking? this nightmare seems to be never ending. Is there anybody that could look at the pictures iv posted to see if this is the case? Thanks.

The over harvesting has left your donor too thin for another Fue. Strip may be your only option, body hair is a possibility, very expensive though. Then there is SMP into the donor dots.
Possibly more grafts were extracted than quoted, who knows what the transection ratio is. Sorry it's so harsh.
The clinic needs to take responsibility for this.

You dont know that his donor is uncapable of more producing fue grsfts. He needs to let a surgeon evaluate his situation

Which good surgeon could take selectively from this without thinning it out more? Which will make it look worse than it is now. Approximately 1500/2000 grafts to repair the transplanted zone. We can wait to see if another clinic offer some help. If Lisbon will post quality pictures of donor, then we see.

That would be marvellous if another clinic, could post their thoughts. I will upload more pics from my donor area. I'll try my best to get high quality 1s. Thanks.

Hi Mate

Am no expert however it would make sense not just to post pictures but to actual get some upfront and personnel consultations with the Clinics in the UK or even Europe to find out what can be done , its not good what has happened here but only the best will give you the truth and thats what you need to here , the donor needs to be checked from back to sides and then you will have some kind of peace of mind even if it means waiting awhile , I wish you all the best . Their is Senior Members on this Forum hopefully they give you some guidance

Cheers

Something else I was thinking of to keep in mind Lisbon. You've mentioned a couple of times that you might not want to go through it all again, do another op. I'd imagine that's also largely down to where you have been. With a good surgeon you shouldn't have a traumatic procedure. I felt no pain. The initial injections sting a little but I would then get top-up injections if any discomfort started to come further into the procedure. The only discomfort should come from laying in position for lengthy spells. Just something to keep in mind when potentially facing up to a second op.

There is a thread topic on here featuring the hair transplant repair story of a poster called Topcat Sadly. I dont think he posts here anymore but his thread probably contains a lot of advice that could be particularly valuable to you. It is worth a read.

Hi Lisbon,Your donor in the back has been thinned out quite a lot, what are the sides like?
Another clinic may be able to get more donor via Fue but I guess it would not be enough for what you require. Body hair is a possibility to help.
Send your pictures to a few clinics to get their opinion on what they think you need, then take it from there.
Keep us updated on what you decide.
All the best.
Bm.
