Looks good as usual (at this stage) from BHR

Seems like alot of FU's for a narrow restructuring of the hairline. Looks densly packed what's the hair count per cm2?

If further loss is anticipated even with the meds, will there be more procedures down the line to keep up with this hairline?

Hi Richfrog

Patients is 29 coming up to 30, has been on both Propecia and Minoxidil for sometime, and stabilised his loss.

Grafts placed and breakdown of hairs per graft are as follows:-

1 hair - 402
2 hair - 364
3 hair - 648
4 hair - 185

A good amount of grafts were singles in order to establish a fine hairline in the first few mms and then better groupings going back. The design shows we did indeed bite back well into the recession and native hair, so a fair surface area treated.

Density per se placed is part of the pictures, the make of hairs per grafts, calibre etc is part of the equation in order to give the desired density and look.

Density can differ from 50 to 70 FU per cm2 in the initial hairline few mms which needs singles and then lower density with higher groupings as we go back and again will differ when blending into native hair as we did here.

Will see if the patient can update also.

Good example for many who come to the forums not quite understanding numbers and how clinics can sometime differ greatly. This example extracts almost 50% of the grafts as 1 and 2 hair grafts. Can some clinics extract a lower percentage keeping the overall numbers and cost lower, sure. Will it matter in the end, you better believe it €™s going to matter. It €™s the difference between having a natural looking head of hair and you have a very nice hair transplant.

So those researching you need to take this into consideration in fact it should be at the top of your list and not overall numbers. If cost is a factor it €™s better to take a slower approach and get it done right even if you need to have multiple procedures.

So instead of just asking for a number it might be wise to ask the clinic what they hope the numbers will consist of.

Hi everyone, so far so good, only issue I had was that I started back on the regaine after about 2 weeks and it seemed to irritate the recipient area quite a bit making it look very red.

I'll try and get some new pictures up this week.

looks good, although it looks like your hairline is pink for some reason.

I've just got back from 10 days in Thailand so think it's a little bit of sunburn.
I also had some redness due to Regaine, 2 weeks post op it was almost undetectable (check the earlier pics) then I started back on the Regaine which made the area extremely red, I kept applying aloe vera and it gradually calmed down.

Looks like you never had a HT, and that is the best complement I can give to both patient and clinic !
