Hi I am new on here and was wondering if anyone couldsupply me with any information regarding the BHR clinic in Brussels. I am male aged 50 with what I would say is extensive balding.I have been using Propecia for approx 10 years but recently stopped after I was told by my GP who supplies my meds that it could cause long term liver damage.I use Nanogen fibres which does a good job but I think it is starting to show because of lack of hair I am wearing "powder" on my head. I have researched a few clinics andalso had a consultation with the Farjo Clinic in Manchester who recommended FUT surgery on my crown area.I think at that time he estimated 2600 grafts that was in 2010. Personally what has held me back from taking the leap is that a scar on the back of my head just did not appeal tome as I like my hair short.I am keen to research further good doctors who specialize in fue and found Dr Bisanga.I contacted the clinic and they have kindly offered me a consultation with the Dr in Brussels on the 9th February. I live in Glasgow and I am checking for flights etc to meet him.Has anyone had any experiencewith this clinic travelling from the UK and getting fue work done?

Hi and welcome to the forum, there are lots of patients in the patient result section. Take a look through and comment on their posts to get a reply from them.

I have personally met Dr Bisanga and seen a number of patients of his and been very impressed by his work. He is a really nice guy and very ethical so you would be in very good hands. I went to Brussels just before Christmas and took the Eurostar it was a two hour journey from St Pancras, London although if you are coming from Glasgow you will definitely wish to fly.

Hopefully some former patients will chip in on their experience on how to get from the airport to the clinic.

Brussels is a really great city and you can enjoy the Belgium beer if you are going for just a consult although best to indulge afterwards in Z:B

And be sure to pick up a fridge magnet there as I did.

I would say that Dr. Bisanga is very ethical, and a very real, nice easy going person who happens to be highly skilled. I have only mentioned this story I believe two times because I feel maybe I €™m out of place for bringing it up. The single biggest act of ethics I have read about in this industry over 30 years was an account from a patient from Cyprus who had worked performed by another doctor at the same clinic Dr. Bisanga happened to be working at and this was very long ago, close to 10 years now.

The patient describes being distraught by what appeared to him as work that just didn €™t look right. Dr. Bisanga took it upon himself to not let the patient leave and actually redo much of the placement. I can tell you the majority in this industry would never even contemplate doing something along these lines. To actually redo the placement of another doctor €™s work from the next room €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦it €™s absolutely unheard of and it €™s applies to many professions for instance police. It takes something extraordinary inside to be able to do something like this and it is something I always remember reading as it stood out. It actually happened and it was long before I ever became a patient. It €™s what you do when nobody is looking that sometimes counts the most. This patient just happen to post it by chance and most didn €™t even pick up on it.

Traveling to the clinic from the airport is fairly easy. You can take a taxi but much less expensive to take the train. All the way in the corner of the airport are some escalators. You would need to take about 3 down to get to the ticket station. Once you purchase a ticket you go down one more escalator then just make sure you get on the right train. There are only 2 tracks so it €™s not that difficult but make sure to ask someone so you know you are going in the right direction. Then make sure to get off at the right stop which is Midi Station. I only missed it once got off at the next stop and then took the train going back in the other direction. From there you can take a very short cab ride to the clinic/hotel if you are staying. Just make sure that you go the cab station and not someone trying to pick you up with a private car.

Hope it goes well for you.
