What is your hair loss situation?
Yeah, I have done so and honestly communications with all have been great. Ian at BHR is a nice gentleman who was helpful, as is the rep from Mwamba's clinic, and both have given me a similar plan of action so to speak. In any case I have made my mind up and chosen to go with Mwamba as contact with their clinic has been great and they have been able accommodate even further in offering an unshaven procedure which, although I know shouldn't really be a huge influence in any decisions, will just make the whole ordeal a lot easier and less stressful. Also Mwamba is very involved in the surgery and even often splits up smaller 2000-ish graft sessions up in to two days which is very delicate planning and rare to see.
My hair loss is confined to my temple areas and I am somewhere in the region of a NW3 I think, possibly a bit less, but no visible loss to anywhere else on my head as of yet as my crown and mid scalp are the same as ever as far as I can tell.
I'm 26 and in hindsight (looking at old pictures and videos) probably started losing my hair at around the age of 19/20, at least visibly looking back now, but I didn't realise too much at the time. It likely actually began a few years earlier than that for the miniaturisation to be apparent in those photos I can see when I was 20 odd. However the hairs that are now gone or miniaturised were sort of all already miniaturised at that point, almost like two triangles of hair all on either temple started to go at once rather than a gradual recession if that makes sense, and by the age of around 22 it had gotten to the point they thinned out significantly and my situation hasn't really change at all since then. My hair looks to be nearly the exact same now as it was around about 4 years ago, granted a little bit of hair in those triangular areas that were already very miniaturised have thinned out even more, but no real cosmetic/visual change from that and loss hasn't continued deeper into my temples, at least not noticeably anyway, since this time.
I have been on fin for about a year and a half anyway to halt further loss as I'm under no illusions that hair loss is progressive and know this is going to inevitably happen. Had no noticeable change for good or bad; no sheds, re-growth or visible thickening of hair, but also no deterioration, and maintenance is the goal anyway. Although I do feel like my hair would look the exact same if I hadn't been taking it for the past 18 months, it's more of a long term strategy as I plan to do what I can to hold on to as much native hair as I can for the rest of my life and hopefully treatment will allow me to delay the need for another transplant for the next 10,15 maybe even 20 years. I'm soon going to add Topical Dutasteride in once a week and will also be adding Breezula into the mix when it comes out.
I have attached some pics so you can see my situation.
And cheers Mustang and Bullinut for giving me a bit of assurance!
