Unfortunately the highlighting of the extraction site obscures the vision of the procedure somewhat.
How many grafts are punched before actual extraction?
It s probably the only option for my own repair, however I am concerned about the possible scarring aspect...I wouldn't want to create another problem to have to deal with.

This was just a video to show how the procedure goes .We didn't focus our energy to show close details .
What we wanted to show in this video is what is involved in FIT technique :
-we use high 6x magnification loupes with incorporated light .This helps us to get a perfect view of the surgical field .FIT is not a blind surgery .
-We score the graft , look at the hair direction , adjust our punch angle ,get in and then we make the actual graft.
The graft will be pulled out later on with special devices.
with beard hairs you don't have to worry about scar marks in your face ;beard donor area heals very good .

The video you will see is presenting the results of the patient you have seen above .It was taken before the surgery you followed where we were working in increasing the density in the vertex .
This is a repair case :It takes a lot of time and has to be done step by step.Our patient had multiple strip surgeries with poor growth and linear scars in the donor .
I wanted to show you some aspects of his current results ( and not the last ):
-you will see the texture of his beard hairs ;coarser ,l onger than in their original donor area ie face or chin ; not very different from scalp hairs in frontal zone .The top and vertex is only BHT ( beard , chest and pubic hairs mostly )
-In the donor area , we grafted leg hairs , pubic hairs , belly hairs .
There is no sign of linear scar anymore because we grafted the linear scar with BHT (legs,belly ,chest ) .You will still notice the presence of white dots in donor area ,less disturbing than bad strip scar .
Body hairs do grow and the leading source should be beard hairs ( consistency in growth and unnoticeable scar when totally shaved ).
