Dr Raghu Reddy 7 month update - 2,689 grafts

This is a 7 month and 1 week update of my hair transplant performed by Dr Raghu Reddy in London.

A total of 2,689 grafts were implanted in the front half of my scalp - no grafts were placed in the crown - any improvement in this area is from meds/microneedling.

I had been using topical finasteride and minoxidil for a year prior to the procedure and had seen some thickening of existing hair but little regrowth. Post-op I switched to oral finasteride 1mg daily and oral minoxidil 2.5mg daily. After my last checkup with Dr Reddy in January I increased my oral min dose to 2.5mg twice daily and started microneedling with a derma pen every 10 days at 0.75mm in the crown area only.

I'm 32 years old and had been steadily losing my hair since my early 20s.

Welcome to the forum Craig. You’ve had good growth so far that achieved good covered. Do you have an immediate post-op picture to show the placement?
The meds could be increasing your growth too.
You do have some multi grafts in your hairline. They may or may not bother you. 7 months is still early, plenty of time for more growth.

The meds are definitely having an impact on my crown. There were no grafts implanted in that area and it's improved noticeably since I switched from topical to oral fin/min.

I hadn't even noticed the multi grafts until someone on another forum pointed it out to me so I don't really care. They only seem to be in the corners and I think it looks fine in real life. One of my friends is considering a transplant and he had a close look using the flash on his camera and he never noticed.

The placement looks good. Some people are bothered by multis, some are not. It usually depends on if they’re easily noticeable. If at 12 months you feel they are, some punch outs or a few singles added around them to sort it. Otherwise, just enjoy your new look as I bet your confidence is having a nice boost with your new hairline.

Some more recent pics. Hair is continuing to thicken and I'm letting it grow out now while still keeping the sides short.

Looking good Craig. From where you started to now it’s a massive difference for the better.

Thanks! I'm happy with it and it's still improving, plus the min/fin/microneedling are working on the crown and I think there's been some very slight improvement on the temporal peaks though the hairs in that area are very thin.

That’s good to hear you’re still seeing improvements. Keep up with the crown treatment as that will hopefully continue to improve.
