Dear All,
I have gone under hair transplantation surgery 22 days before. the one side of my frontal scalp has swelled up and by pressing various regions of scalp, lots of pus like liquid which is call ed folliculits comes out. I am taking amoxicillin and metronidazole since last many days twice a day. One side of my face still shows swelling in morning and became lighter by end of day. I am worrying still how many days this kind of liquid discharge will comes out from scalp and when everything become normal?

I would like to have suggestion from any person how had undergone this surgerry.

I would go back to your surgeon and explain what's happening as you shouldn't be swelled up nearly a month post op. It sounds to me like the antibiotics you have been given are not working dude.

Yea go back to your doctor if possible, swelling should have gone by now and as Bn says the antibiotics may not be strong enough.

Hope you get it sorted.

Yes, head back asap. This may need additional, possible topical anti biotics.

Long hair may also contribute to an infection, therefore we always advice against implanting between long hair.

Dear All,

Thanks for suggestion I am applying povidone-iodine (PVPI) topical antiseptics on daily night but still I have scalp bumps and fluid still comes out it. I am on Novolox + Metronidazole twice daily. Is there any suggestion to switch on other antibiotics.

Regards,
Bhavesh

If anti biotics where already given you may
1. a type of infection that does not respond to the class of anti biotics you where given
2. you suffer from a type of infection that has become immune to anti biotics. If this is the case and no anti biotics help you could look into fagen therapy : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacteriophage
