Fue donor area shockloss and recovery

Hi Everyone,
I had an FUE hair transplant in February 2020.
One of my big concerns with having a hair transplant was what would I do if it failed. Not in terms of how it would look on top, but what would the donor area look like? The idea of it failing then having significant scarring was a deterrent. I know that there will be scarring no matter what but I was concerned that the donor area would be patchy.
All in all, I had just short of 2000 grafts in the front third. The donor area healed quickly however between 2-3 Months the donor area was patchy and it was not possible to have the hair shorter than a grade 3. It was worrying so I decided not to look at it for the next 3 months.
last week marked the 6 month anniversary of the transplant and I decided to get a high fade at number 1 to see how it was looking.
I believe it looks much better, but I wanted to document it here in case anyone else later down the line has the same sort of shock loss in the donor area. There is a 2-day post, a 1-month post, a 3-month post, and a 6-month post-op.

Hi Pete.
Thanks for documenting your shock loss concerns and recovery. Not everyone suffers shock loss but if you do it`s usually noticeable within the first month post op when the native hair is growing back. This is a worrying time for patients, however, it is usually only temporary with most if not all the shocked hairs growing back over a period of months.

Your donor area looks to have fully recovered and looks in very good shape.
