Hey guys,
last June (2020) I got 1500 grafts transplanted via FUE at The Treatment Rooms in London. I decided to write a post about my experience, hopefully helping someone out by doing so. I don't want to go on forever so I will try and keep it brief!
Why The treatment rooms?
I always intended to stay within the UK, Turkey etc didn't really appeal to me. After all the usual googling and sending out the same generic enquiry to the places I liked; I instantly clicked with the lads at the treatment rooms; the priority wasn't to get consultation fee out of me or get me booked in, instead the priority was to find exactly what I wanted and help me get that.
The experience with the treatment rooms:
Prior to op: guidance was crystal clear with explanations on everything to do with the actual day, I was given a PDF detailing everything you could think of - on top of that the lads were in constant communication to make sure I was happy with everything.
Day of the op: made to feel at ease from beginning to finish, grabbed me the lunch I requested. Super service all day and catered to my every need. Was able to listen to any music for the extractions in the morning and watch netflix all afternoon whilst putting hairs in the recipient area.I could also chat away to the team throughout which really makes you comfortable.
Prior to op: again was given all the info I needed, along with 24/7 support from Dr Vara and the team for any concerns I had. I still email to this day and he gets back to me straight away every time.
The details:
30 year old guy. Was receding at temples. Crown all good. Dr Vara and co quoted me 1500 grafts, drew a hair line on my head that I was happy with and that they said would look perfectly natural - which it does!
I decided to shave my head, I think thats optional but I had nothing to hide, I think if I kept my hair - the aftercare could of been a little more annoying - but manageable either way.
1500 grafts inserted via FUE. Job done.
The 2 weeks after the op sucks, you gotta sleep semi upright on your back. You're constantly paranoid you've knocked grafts out. Your whole day revolves around your tender head. Once the scabs come off (10-14 days) then you're cruising. You will then spend the next 2-4 months wondering when the hairs will shed / will they ever come back / did the op work and probably emailing your doc with 500 repetitive questions.
But once you hit month 4/5 - things start to happen. Some thin stringy hairs appear. And from there its a slow but slightly more enjoyable journey. It probably wasnt until month 7 or so that I was buzzing about my hair. I am now 9 months post op and absolutely delighted with my results.
I'm happy to chat to anyone considering going for it, needless to say this is not a PR post for the Treatment Rooms, but those guys made my experience as good as it could possibly of been and I will forever owe them one for the great job they did.
