Well I would like to recommend you for two quick sessions one year apart as that is preferred by lot of people who got hair restoration treatment done. I got my hair restoration treatment from Dr Ray Woods and he did a wonderful job according

It really depends on what you mean by megasession, as opinions differ on how many grafts should be extracted in one procedure.

On the basis of your avatar photo, it looks like you would only need a small procedure, but I see in your signature that you're a diffuse NW5, so you might need over 3000 grafts, potentially.

Some patients choose to concentrate on the front first and deal with the mid-scalp later. Sometimes they might even feel that the second procedure is unnecessary!

Go for 2 rather than one.

Dr Woods is all the way over in Australia though, so would add a big amount of cash having to fly there.

The temptation to get things sorted in one pass is very high but two small cases would be better for healing from what I have seen.

It really depends on the quality and quantity of the donor area.
Some patients have a great donor situation and can have 3000+ grafts done over a 2 day period.
When the donor hairs are weak and or the quantity is lower it is best to go for 2 seperate sessions to make sure the donor is not over harvested.

A smaller session will always heal better just as a small wound will always heal better than a larger one. One does not need to be a doctor to know thin one only needs to have common sense.

If you are a very poor responder you will not lose 100% of your donor only 50% of your donor. This puts you at less risk and in a better position should something go wrong. Putting a patient at less risk should always come before anything and everything.

Might be better to look at it like this. If you had to put your child on the operating table would you go for the risky operation just to get it all done so you would'nt have to bother with coming back or would you go for the less risky operation to keep your child safe and just deal with the extra effort required in having to go back again.

In all my HTs I chose to proceed with small sessions rather than big ones. This has as a main advantage that you can achieve better density and also gives you the opportunity to correct any deficiencies.

Yeah, sometimes they -and sometimes even the doctor- feel this ...

How much was it? 6000 grafts in 1 procedure?

Hi

I would certainly go for 2 sessions , it gives you options and as stated you can evaluate your progress any problems along the way you can discuss , I would be a liar to say that I wanted 2 sessions because I wanted it done in 1 , I listened to what the Dr said and I am glad I did , your a young guy and by reading your posts your doing your research and your donar is so precious , hope you get the right answers

thanks

you can always combine SMP with a small FUE session, I have seen some really good results with this combination. Firstly you should try SMP and then you can decide if you want to undergo with a small FUE session.

Any more thoughts on this Fred dude, have you decided when you are going to pull the trigger yet? And do you plan on doing SMP like close suggested.
