FUT with FUE scar revision or FUE only?

What is the consensus here, which approach is better in the long run, FUT (strip) procedure with the benefits of lower transection (no grow) rates, cheaper, denser (according to Shapiro's clinic of Minnesota), and then follow up with a small FUE session in the scar after the scar has healed, or get a complete FUE procedure from the beginning?

Also, who do you all think might have the lowest transection rates among FUE docs?

I've read through those links. Will small strip scar be able to be corrected using FUE so that the individual will be able to buzz their hair all down?

I doubt it, if you want to shave your head in the future, don't have strip at all.

You are talking about fixing a problem that doesn't yet exist. There is no guarantee that your strip scar will be small and thin, with a good clinic it most likely will be, but no one can say it for sure, it could then cost quite a bit to try and fix it.

Do you have strip scar or anticipate one,? Do you mean can you cut your hair to almsot zero post strip without the scar being seen? A scar is what it is, as scar, it cannot be removed but it can be hidden to a degree. If you are asking if you have a Strip and want to cut your hair to zero then the answer is no, the linear scar will be visible. If you do already have a scar then you could post pictures if you have not already and ask the forum members for their opinions, without pictures it's hard for anyone to give you personal opinions as to what can be done.

From all I have read and seen if you want to shave your haed to the skin, strip is a non option. But then why do you want to shave to the skin if you are going for a ht. If you wanna keep a buzz then what length are you looking at 2mm, 4mm or more.

Sparky: the reason I was thinking of having FUT first then an FUE scar revision is because the best results I have seen from a procedure in terms of density are from Hasson and wong and Rahal, both strip procedures. The results are (quite often) amazing. I have had no procedures as of date.

I would not shave my head to the skin - as stated whats the point of an HT then? I would want to be able to buzz it down though, something like shown in Turelure's link. That scar revision seems really good.
