Getting rich in the Hair Transplant Industry

You know even now this same rep strikes me as being a really good guy. I don t know what it is maybe the constant politeness that throws me off. What I can say from experience is that once you start manipulating the truth it gets harder and harder to keep your story straight as you sometimes don t remember what you said or wrote. When it s the truth it s the truth not much to explain or remember.

I don t even post most of what I pick up on it would be too much. Most probably think I m nuts already and most would just walk away so maybe they have a hard time understanding it.

Guys,

I appreciate there is some concern along with some misunderstandings about my integrity. I d like the opportunity to share my perspective. I work tirelessly for and in this industry to make a difference. As many know this is close to my heart and why I m so passionate to create changes, because I was taken advantage of. It s a form of abuse. I don t want anyone else to go through what I went through. This isn t about the money for me, despite that being a projection onto me. I do this primarily for the cause to give patients another way.

It is my mission and ethos to constantly bring cutting edge information, successful and innovative options to empower hair loss sufferers in order to get them the best and most appropriate treatments through products and surgeons that I believe have integrity and are empathic to the hair loss sufferer.

In response to my recent decision to represent Dr. Feriduni, I would like to confirm that I have not completely changed my opinion on FUE. I am not promoting mega session FUE contrary to what people are implying. For the record, I have never stated FUE or that mega session FUE is now the only way to go in anyway shape or form despite the fact Dr. Feriduni offers this treatment as well as FUT. I have NOT had a complete change of heart. I have certainly seen more consistent results with larger FUE sessions, as we all have, and I mentioned it publicly a few months ago. I live and breathe the developments in this world we are immersed in. I ve been visiting clinics, reviewing procedures like FUE in depth and constantly investigating through research and experientially through visiting/meeting different practices as well as surgeons all the time.

I m trying to help provide patients options especially in light of how the industry is in fact evolving, hard to deny, something most people I m sure see as a positive, as I certainly do. Some will say I should have evolved sooner, however I am only human and have tried to do my best by all patients, despite some opinions of me. I have NOT had a complete change of opinion however. I m simply evolving and always trying to with the industry. My opinion on FUE was and like many in the industry still is, that FUE is generally more successful for smaller sessions. This is still the opinion of many respected FUE surgeons. After actually spending time over the last few months meeting specific patients and doctors and travelling to different clinics I have been educated as to some facts I was unaware of previously, and happy to admit it. I have certainly learnt more about FUE, and I wanted to learn more and set out to and took it upon myself to do so. I have certainly gained insight into the different protocols within certain clinics. In particular, as a result of spending time with Dr. Feriduni and learning from him, his team and seeing him work along with his recent results in person, my opinion simply needed to evolve regarding FUE.

Despite this, if I had my time again I would still go strip, as strip doesn t cause me concern, based on my goal, as it does others. So readers please do not misunderstand my opinion on FUE and how my opinion on it has slightly changed and how in fact come about. I m simply warmer to larger sessions in the right hands, and I think others also are who had a similar opinion to me previously, in light of the evidence we are getting presented with. FUE is certainly at a turning point and larger sessions can help certain individuals I agree, more individuals that I previously thought possible. I apologies to posters/patients who feel my previous opinion was outdated or wrong. I m certainly not perfect, I don t pretend to be, we all make mistakes, that s how we learn, adapt and evolve.

All surgery presents risks - I have tried to help educate many patients with surgery risks and information generally over the years. The risks with FUE is something that made me a little opinionated, especially after seeing posters, meeting and interacting with so many unsatisfied FUE patients over the last several years along with being a multiple FUE patient myself. One thing for sure it was not due to me wanting to sell only strip. I m a 6 time FUE successful patient myself. I simply try to help based on what I felt to be accurate, as we all do.

I ve attempted to help as many people as possible and guide patients based on my own experiences and the experienced opinions of respected leading surgeons and other actual patients I ve previously met or interacted from a variety of clinics over 10+ years. Has my service been satisfactory to everyone I have interacted with, how could it be, that would be impossible. I m inundated with requests and I aim to do my best by everyone. I have indeed put myself out to help and I will strive to continue to do all I can.

I try to bring awareness, as I believe you should go into this industry with your eyes open. Being informed is key! It's vital the patient understands all the risks involved with FUE and FUT surgery in general and in depth and they understand the numerous variables present from patient to patient with HT surgery, and this is what I try to do. I m here to learn too however - and I m always open to learning. It's important prospective patients make their own informed decision based on their own research too and learn from others before them.

My advice is research HT s extensively as I have, and be aware of all the risks with it and certainly meet actual patients and consult several leading surgeons in person if possible. There is no substitute for meeting a Doc in the flesh to assess you and your eligibility for surgery. Learn how their philosophies differ, as no two docs are the same and no two patients are the same. Keep sessions sizes and goals realistic and its also very important keep your expectations in check. This isn t a miracle cure!

Also understand we are all different in terms of our physiology too. Make sure there is a Doctor involved at/in your surgery and he has an open mind to both techniques in order to maximise donor supply too. Different clinics have good consistency with FUT and FUE and they will/should all tell you there are no guarantees with any surgery. I am not a doctor as my website and forum signatures state. I m simply a patient who has had 10 HT surgeries and a patient who continues to do his best to educate others and I will endeavour to do so to the best of my ability.

There are horses for courses in life, I might not be everyone s cup of tea. I couldn t possibly be, I m just out there doing what I do and helping who I can along the way get better informed to make choices that don t abuse them in the process. I can safely say i have saved 1000's of patients from being abused. I certainly wish you all well and best with your own HT journeys. I do not intend to retort as I ve done my best to try inform you of my opinion and don t have anything else to say on the matter despite any direction my reply is taken.

Finally, Boberto,
I hear you and understand your frustration toward me, which was ignited as a result of Dr. Feller keeping your deposit. I was very much in your corner, as I am for all my clients, and did my best to speak to Dr Feller in your defence and I m sorry it resulted the way it did. I do understand why you would feel I let you down, however it wasn t my decision to make. If it had been, I would have gladly helped in light of your situation and the fact we had spoken on the phone numerous times over the years, knowing you are a decent guy. Without going over old ground I m sorry that it turned out the way it did, however often the messenger gets shot. I only wish you the very best with your recent Dr Bisanga session, a Doc I have recommended in my literature for over 2 years.

Regards
Spencer

I am a little confused.

Is this thread suggesting spex?

Spex is smooth talker, no wonder he manages to work for 3 competing clinics+1 tattoo joint

How about adding Dr Ghos HST to the list,
I know you aren't convinced it works but you weren't convinced FUE works and now you are sold.
Our opinions tend to evolve as time passes, its good to be ahead

Spex, can you tell us about your job, I guess people come to you and depending on their situation you direct them to one of the clinics you represent, right?
But since you work for 3 clinics, what is the criteria,
how do you choose if a patient should have a strip with Feller or H&W,
or FUE with Feriduni or Feller..they are all top class in their respective fields so must be frustrating assuming they pay you the same amount per patient who comes through you.

I think that for anyone researching hair transplantation that believes everyone is of equal skill is only fooling themselves. Dozens and dozens of doctors on some of these lists and they are all equally capable just pick the location nearest you, not much logic there. So what you have happening are people who work in the industry recommending techniques and clinics for purely financial reasons as admitting that the other doctor s technique or standard of care is better is not good for business. Much better to represent a doctor that is doing great work. Common sense says would be the easier road.

On a personal level I would never want to see someone lose their job or have their income diminished. In fact I m just the opposite I love seeing someone else do well and find achievers inspirational regardless of what their goals happens to be and if it s making money more power to you. The key is to become better, work harder at becoming better which from my observations over the years seems to be sorely lacking in this industry. So they need to resort to manipulating the truth and that can last for only so long and that is why it is critical for all patients to speak among themselves. When you develop your own network of patients it will help you get to the truth.

People can speak nicely and sound very caring and they can take the time to write the same way but it really all comes down to what you do. I have seen a lot of smiling faces in this business but it means very little always better to give the straight honest truth and hopefully those that are moving in that direction doctors, forums and reps will be richly rewarded and those that do otherwise will end up miserable failures.

Can people change their minds?

I argue yes.

Remember that back in 2004 almost no docs believed in large session FUE. Look around and you Will see à lot of docs have changed there methods and approaches.

I agree people can change their mind when presented with enough evidence and they should be supported for coming to a realization that they may have been wrong or simply did not have enough information previously as long as it benefits the patient.

The original focus of this thread was the comment made by a former patient that would like to get into this business, now it s time to get rich sorry but that is the wrong reason. Do good and no harm first, the money will take care of itself.

As I wrote patients speak among themselves and after a while you can figure out who is doing what and why they are doing it. Being dishonest is not a sometimes thing.

Does 'hairlossexperinces' endorse/recommend any clinic or these clinics we see on top and bottom of the page are just sponsors;as in anyone can become sponsor?

you know how HRN and TBT have their own lists and some of doctors happen to be on both of these lists

No clinic is recommended on here, these clinics show their results, it's up to the individual to do their research and decide for themselves on which clinic they go to. We are not discussing other forums here, they have their criteria and I have mine. People are free to choose where they interact.

Patients/members may recommend clinics on a personal choice. I hope that helps.

By the way, still waiting for your pictures mg.

Funny how things work in this business. Just a few years ago they banned me as they felt FUE was very dangerous now that has changed for them. Many people in this business are either liars or completely incompetent, it s one or the other. It's hard for me to believe many of the patients know more than some of those that work the sales angle but I guess it is possible.

Stop with this nonsense... I know that they would never ban people who actually just tell it like it is... truthfully... that would be be shady topcat...

One issue I have with what Spex added to this thread is his statement he is simply just a patient. He is in fact not simply just a patient but generates revenue from this industry so please do not say you are simply just a patient, it makes no sense. Working for strip clinics, fue clinics, temporary tattoo clinics and coming out with DVD`s does not make you simply just a patient, not even close.

I have spoken to too many patients and one of the recurring statements I have been told is that you tend to persuade them to post a certain way, at a certain time, or post something specific. That in my opinion is incredibly dishonest. Being honest is not sometimes a thing in my book. Personally I don`t get what you do especially since you claim to be a repair patient, I simply cannot imagine it.

It s very easy to be honest when you are representing a great company with a great product. When you represent a company that sues their customers or gives them the old bait and switch than it becomes much harder. You than have to razzle and dazzle them with bullsh*t.

I have more respect for someone that can say I was selling an inferior product for an inferior company. I am now selling a superior product for a superior company. No shame in seeing the light.

I have had about 20 procedures in the number really matters which it doesn't. What matters is what you do with the knowledge you have. You can use it for good or bad.

Totally agree. You stop being merely a patient when you are remunerated to represent a particular surgeon etc.

Something I find extremely unconscionable is a patient that makes an appointment for an fue procedure, pays his money, arranges for the time off and when he gets into the chair all of a sudden he is not a candidate and will have to go with strip. How would someone like to be put into that position? Sure it`s easy to say you would just get up and leave but many of these patients are now under a tremendous amount of pressure to move forward with the strip. No different than the alarming amount of cesarean sections in this country. When the woman is told the baby might die well doesn t seem like you have much of a choice. And don t fool yourself into believing many of these young guys once they get into the chair are not under just as much pressure. It benefits the doctor in these cases as his skill level is so low he shouldn`t even be offering the fue procedure to begin with. It sickens me so yes they need to paint on a happy face as if all is well in HT land until the next opportunity comes around.

I found this thread referenced on another popular hair loss forum and thought I should chime in with my experience, as I believe it supports what topccat29 is saying.

I emailed Spex a couple of weeks ago with my photo and asked him if I should go for FUE or FUT. He told me I should go for FUT because FUE was unreliable even in the best of hands and more expensive. I knew it wasn't more expensive as I'd done my homework!!! ))N_):) Also I'd seen threads where FUE had been done on other guys with similar hair loss to me so his advice really confused me. It made me think he could have a vested interest, or how would he be so wrong? I mean, how could someone like me know more than him about the feasibility of FUE after only a few months of research? I don't buy this "evolving" line, it's such transparent nonsense.

I emailed Dr Feriduni's clinic to ask directly, as I really didn't trust Spex after that and they told me Spex should be being objective. Sounded like he got into hot water, and Dr Feriduni also created his own account on the forum I was reading, which surely wouldn't happen if he trusted his new rep?

Something is really off here and I dunno if I can go with Dr Feriduni if he associates with this guy. *nl

Apologies to the poster "Leo" for any misunderstanding caused on my behalf which felt he should question my integrity.

On all accounts it was only a couple weeks ago I d had a complete change of heart and was only promoting mega session FUE ¦

I can only try to continue to do my best and help patients obtain the Dr's opinions i represent and give my own opinion when asked to. It is apparent however i cant do right for doing wrong in some peoples eyes and will apparently keep coming under attack here.

Leo, you will find i gave you my opinion, and in fact offered to help gain Dr Feriduni's opinion directly straight away, as can be seen from the email below. You never followed it through or sent me further pictures to obtain Dr Feridunis opinion, despite my offer. I seem to have come under several attacks of late since my recent involvement with the Bald Truth Radio Show and representing Dr Feriduni.

I'm trying my best all the time to give people timely replies and understand it's not going to be good enough by everyone and i appreciate information can get distorted, misinterpreted or misunderstood. For example i stated FUE is a little more unpredictable; not unreliable, and i also stated FUE is more expensive on the whole, which is industry common knowledge that FUE is seen as more expensive, not just my opinion.

Regardless of my opinion - i offered to help you obtain Dr Feridunis opinion on FUE as I too was interested to seek his opinion for you. Anyone reading please do not take my opinion or advise as gospel, it certainly isn't. I'm only human and i think these posts and comments toward me highlight i need reflect and change on how i respond to the numerous emails I receive to avoid confusion.

Your email to me :

Please see the attached photo which shows my loss, with the red area indicated where I'd like filled. Based on what I've seen I believe I would need about 2.5k grafts to fully restore my hairline. I can't decide on whether I want FUE or FUT as there's a lot of conflicting information out there, but at the end of the day I just want the best result possible.
Could you advice me on this please?
Thank you for your resources and time.

My reply :

Leo,
Realistically you are going to need 2000-2500 to compete with existing density and address the area shown. Strip generally is favored to enable higher yield for larger sessions such as this but depends if you intend to shave /bic all your hair off at a later date - which is pointless in my opinion if you intend to get a HT. FUE is a little more unpredictable even in the best of hands in terms of yield and more expensive on the whole. I now represent Dr Feriduni in Belgium who has consistently been
doing solid FUE for some time and larger sessions so its defo an option if you cant " get your head round " strip.

Also just to clarify to you and the readers
I have recieved no feedback from Dr Feriduni whatsoever and I saw him last week in person. He respects my opinion and educating me all the time. My role is to facilitate patients to gain HIS opinion as I tried to do with you.

Also to comment further on your other comments, I actually help post Dr Feridunis pictures via his new account "Dr Feriduni Hair Clinic" as he asked me to and requested permission from the admin to do so as he was having difficulties.

Posting your opinion is appreciated and i will take on board comments made which are valid, however other comments are highly inaccurate and defaming.

I agree with Bullinut, that if you do not like me, don`t email me and speak directly with the clinics.

All the best to all patients

Spex

"Spex", you may have (later) told me I could have Dr Feriduni's opinion, but your whole tone was pushing FUT and suggested FUE as a mere after-thought.

For example, you said:

Given the number of grafts you need I'd say strip could well be best way to roll however I understand your concerns but when done right scars are a non issue.

I'm a 30 year old guy who lives in Europe, and you seriously think it best that I travel to America for strip surgery, when FUE is available at a competitive price on my doorstep?

As for FUE being regarded "generally more expensive" by the rest of the industry, not just you. You must have pretty low confidence in your opinion if you're comparing it with the rest of the industry - an industry you usually malign.

I think if you represent a doctor who does FUE for the same price as FUT, then you should be clear about that to anyone who asks. If you don't, then you can't cry foul when people "defame" you, by suggesting something else is at play.
I mean, what other other reason do you have for shipping guys off for FUT? Go on, tell me it's the yield! )(_::

How's your $47 ebooks selling btw? :whatever:

I had a pm from someone here but it's not enabled so please email [email protected].
