Hi there. Recently, I noticed that my hairline is receding. Though, I'm not sure if it is balding or maturing hairline. I'm currently 17 years old (male), and the previous year was my hair completely fine. This year, I started straightening my hair with an old flat-iron. I did it for a couple of months and I noticed that my hairline began to recede, mostly on the left side. I'm not sure if my hairline was just like that. Well, my hair was heat damaged, rough and flat. I started using hair masks and conditioners for my hair. At the end, I decided to cut it, but there's still a bit of damage and split ends. My hair/scalp also feels painful, sometimes. I also get red spots on the receding hairline. I've also been through a really stressful event. (losing a loved one) Now, 5 months later and still no difference. The only thing that I notice is that my hair is falling out more if not washed. I also usually do not comb it because, well, you know curly/wavy hair. Oh and, if you need to know about my baldness history: My father is bald, including his father. On the other hand, my mom's dad isn't bald and still has a full head of hair, even at this old age.
