Hair Translant v Donor Supply- should I get hair translants on the crown

Hi all,

I have have 2 fantactic hair translants and my results are super. I should be a norwood 4 now but because of my hair transplants I still have a full head of hair. It has really changed my life.

However, I now need to consider further hair loss; should I continue to get further hair translants on the crown or should I not be concerned about the crown and leave the donor area for the middle of my head and any further work on the hair line.

Please find attached my photo of what I look like now, I should have no hair but my hair transplant was the greatest and I am extremely happy. I still have good donor supply so what should I do when I start to lose more hair at the crown, if you could please offer your advise.

Your hair looks great and I can't see an issue on the crown so why worry about something that is not a issue? You should look into taking propecia and this should hold your crown and another transplant should not be needed for a long time.

If you do start to loose hair in the future then you can review how much the crown loss concerns you. I am glad you are happy enjoy your hair.

As Garageland says, it looks good and try Propecia if you are thinning in the crown.

I agree with Garageland and BM, don't worry about your crown. Reevaluated later on years down the road if hair loss has progressed enough that it bothers you again.

Can you upload a photo of your crown area? It's better to start a therapy if you are thinning in the crown. Keep your donor area safe for the future. You seem young and your result great! Enjoy

Thank you Garageland/ Bigmac/ Janna, however I am afraid to take the propecia due to the side effects, I am prepared to let my hair loss happen naturally; propecia is only slowing down the hair loss so it will happen anyway.
Thank you DHI Reresentaive, yes I think its better to start the therapy when it become more noticable, I just want to make sure I have enough donor area for the years to come, my hair line and mid area is most important and now i have done these, i just want to make sure it does not thin too much in the future also.
I think i will prepare to start on the crown, but i need to think about my donor area in the future, i seem to have great donor supply and my hair is thick and wirey which is a consolation to having hair loss from 19 but now 28 and thanks to hair transplantation, i have a super head full of hair.
I wonder is stem cell far away/ cloning etc, for now i just need to plan ahead, i love hair transplants they changed my life, loving life right now, just need to keep an eye out on the crown next.

Hi Please find attched a photo of what my crown looks like now, what are your recommendations... I would like to stay away from proscar/ propecia; I am thinking about a further hair transplant as the hair transplant at my hairline and mid area are super, I have got my hair back; I just want to make sure I have enough donor supply for the future and further hair loss to happen; I love the results of my first two hair transplants I have got amazing results, my only consideration is my donor supply for the future; should I work on the crown or leave it for other areas near the front.

It would be great if hair cloning was near by, will there be anything like this soon.

Please see a photo of my crown, it is getting very light, what do you think is the best option for me? I am very much considering a hair transplant again.

Are you using rogaine/regaine...i would at the very least give that a try if you won't consider Propecia. Have you thought about trying a very low dose of Saw Palmetto?. Your crown is thinning but it looks worse in the picture i bet because it is under the lighbulb. I would not rush into things either you are still fairly young and without meds you may need to preserve the valuable donor for a little later down the line.

Have you thought about temp SMP to maybe add a little density to the crown although you may not be a good candidate *nl with lightish coloured hair

Hi Bullitnut, I am at the stage where I tried proscar, Propecia, rogaine, and now I am just tired of those I am prepared for what happens naturally, however I will always revert to the transplant only.

Yes, I took that picture under the morning sunlight, so it is not as bad as it looks yet, but I need to begin planning the crown.

I have decided what I will do next, I have had hair transplants on the hairline and middle area with super results and with good donor density left so I will be going for another hair transplant.

Overall I can say that my first hair transplant changed my life, I am like a new guy and have so much enjoyment for life, if you are considering a hair transplant consider all factors, plan and it will make a difference to your life too.

I will just post a picture of me now, I have a super hair line a mid area, can you imagine that without a hair transplant I would not have any hair today as I would be forced to shave years ago.

I would definitely say do not transplant the crown. If your sides drop you might need that donor and that would be a very safe decision.
You have framed the face and it looks good best to just enjoy it.

Hi Joe,

I am very happy for you I am sure you have had a great transformation, do you have any photos before your surgery.

From your last photo you are certainly loosing hair in the crown and without using any preventative medication or using rogaine you are going to loose more, how soon that happens is anyone's guess.

You seem set on getting some work in the crown but be careful as the crown will require a large number of grafts to give you the same effect as the front and mid scalp. If I were you I would wait a while and see how it pans out before making any decisions. If you do have the donor hair then a small session to give a light coverage in the future could be possible.

Hey Joe,
Your hairline is looking mighty fine, the crown I would personally have a small fue session, say 500 or so to strengthen the natural swirl with a little coverage moving outwards.
May I ask why you have tired from thanking Propecia as if you're not experiencing side effects I firmly believe you should continue with it.
