Hi, i have 28 and i loose my hair since i have 21.

My english isn't very good. Sorry.

I took finasteride pill when i had 24 to 25.5 years old.
I had too much side effets. (No libido, bad erections :(

Now i take fina/minox topic and i don't have side effects.

I would like to make a hair transplant. I met Dr Lupanzula 2 times. I have thin and average hair. He estimated my donar area 7500 UFS. My quote with him is:

3000/3200 UFS for hairline, 1/3, middle scalp and vertex. (2000/2200 vertex). 2 days intervention

And a quote to Dr De Freitas (just photos) 3000 UFS just hairline, 1/3, middle scalp.

But fina 1mg per day/dutasteride monday and friday.

Vertex one year later and i don't now how much UFS.

I sent a message to Dr Juan Couto he's full for 3 years.

I sent a message with photos to Dr Lorenzo, he said "Patients with side effects usually respond well to low dose of finasteride (2 mg/week), we recommend adding the medication to your treatment because we must stabilize as much as we can due to your age and pattern, topical Finasteride is not going to stop your alopecia"

"Because of your age and without the medication our only advice is to wait.

You will lose more hair in the next decade so right now a hair transplant would be a bad idea with an unstable alopecia."

What do you think ? Dr De Freitas or Dr Lupanzula ??? i met only Dr Lupanzula. It's weird the difference among them about my case ?

Thank you for your answer.

Hi TatsuyaNakadai.

It’s good to hear the topical aren’t giving you any sides. Stabilising the loss is important, especially if you have some miniaturisation. Taking a lower dose of oral finasteride as suggested by Dr Lorenzo may be worth trying.

If I’m reading correctly.

Dr Lupanzula is saying 3000-3200 for the frontal third and 2000-2200 for the crown over a 2 day procedure.

Dr Dr Freitas is saying 3000 for the frontal third only.

Both are basically the same, except Dr Lupanzula is giving you the option of having your crown worked on. You could say you want to leave the crown for now.

I can’t see that much thinning in your frontal third. If it’s there, it’s hidden well with your hair length.

Dr Lupanzula must have checked your donor for miniaturisation. Reaching a figure of 7200 grafts estimate, he must feel the donor is strong.
The other doctors have only assessed by pictures. They may change their appraisal if seen in person.

What are your expectations? Are you wanting full coverage in one surgery or would you be happy with the frontal third/half worked on, leaving the crown to see if the meds make improvements? The decision needs to be yours. If you`re unsure, maybe wait a little longer while trying the lower dosage option of meds.

Hi thank you for your answer, yes he estimated it at 7500 grafts.
Her secretary told me that we have never seen toppic and pills combinated (finasteride) and she does not recommend this prescription 'cause she has never seen it.

Maybe try it myself, I don't know.

Yes only Dr. Lupanzula saw me.
I would like the crown at the same time yes.

EDIT: Dr Lupanzula said 3000/3200 grafts for all. 2000/2200 crown and 1000 for the rest.
