Hairpiece before Hairtransplant need help.

Hello, im Sam 28 years old and iv been wearing a hairpiece for 8 years. I have a Hairtransplant in the near future, and i wanted to ask for how long i shouldt wear a hairpiece before the hairtransplant, so the skin on my head can normalize, iv been wearing a hairpiece for eight years straight with bonding glue on my head so now im scared that the hairtransplant will fail if the skin on my head isnt normalized please help me.
