I've never heard of this "greying" thing before, sounds like a load of old crap.

It does look like he has more hair, but as you can't see the actual hairline you can't tell anything.

Thanks for finding the pic Bullitnut, his HT is looking very good at this stage isn't it?
I did notice the lighter colour while he was playing at the weekend but I'm wondering if that is his red skin tone, and intial discolouration. Or maybe he's going grey already!

It is a dramatic transformation and at this stage a good endorsement for this clinic and hopefully for FUE in the UK.

He wasn't going grey before the HT 2 months ago, and the manager of the clinic has commented on this so it's not his skin tone.

Nothing for Rooney to worry about, he's just been in the sun recently and it's bleached the new transplanted hairs. Job's a good'un!

haha, funny, he is only 2 months post op, no time for bleaching hair that hasn't grown yet, he is wearing concealer, and probably using minox powder which makes your hair look grey when it dries, also, he's an absolute moron for spending prolonged time in the sun before 3 months post op, the clinic obviously knows nothing about this, or he has chosen to ignore them if they do know about it.

I think it looks great, good luck to him

I was never a fan but I do admire his openess about having FUE

PS: Although I don't think there looks to be much of a discolouration issue now this is what the clinic says:

----------------

Nadeem Uddin Khan, Director of the Harley Street Hair Clinic, said: €˜It isn €™t possible to judge the full effect of a transplant for at least 6-12 months.

'While the roots re-establish themselves, the growth can be patchy and this can involve some initial loss or discolouration.'
'This is entirely normal and does not affect the ultimate outcome of a fully restored hairline featuring strong and healthy growth.'

The concealer is as clear as day in this pic, he's only 2-2.5 months, I can't see much HT hair, you can't force HT hair to grow faster, all he has there is the small percentage that doesn't shed with concealer. Best to wait 12 months before any evaluating really.

Of course time will tell but

When he's gone from this

Most people would be pretty chuffed

Lets give him and the clinic that did the work some credit at this stage

I actually wonder if maybe he dyed his hair and the colours now fading.
Who knows but either way all very interesting and becoming better and better news for FUE in the UK

I'll give them credit when we see more than concealer, there are some more hairs there but not many, also like I said before wtf is he spending long periods in the sun before 3 months post op? Some sun is ok, but he was seen in the sun a few days after his ht, crazy.

I haven't seen anything here to make me think that there's any good fue surgeons in the uk yet.

p.s, I do want there to be good surgeons in the uk, but at the moment there's only Farjo and at this moment in time they don't do fue.

Sparky I can feel that you are willing on a failure here, you must have your reasons, but I hope you are wrong.

The UK needs good FUE docs as so many people won't or cannot travel for all sorts of reasons, and if this is progress then we should embrace it.

I do take onboard your opinion and I do respect it even if this time I don't agree.

On the matter of concealer I have to admit that I don't see that in this pic. Can others more qualified comment please?

In his left temple on the 1st pic you posted you can see it, you can't in the second pic. The final result won't be there for another 10 months, there is no result to be seen yet, show me a close up of his hairline like we see from patients on here, obviously you can't and I don't really expect you too, but other than that, we will have to wait to see real growth because there isn't any yet.

Anyway, as you only want surgery in the uk, and you seem to really really like this clinic, what's stopping you?

Sparky, firstly may I say I know you mean well and have great knowledge of the subject. Much more than me. I just think times are changing right now, and the mistakes of the past are now producing good results all over the world and possibly (hopefully) now here in the UK.

--------

Actually the pics were taken at the same time, the very same training session. So maybe the patch you mention is a trick of the light?

Whatever the outcome, and as you say we won't really know for some time yet, this is all interesting stuff for FUE in the UK and I do applaud the chap for being so open about this. It's enabling the debate to continue.

And if in several month time Rooney's hair is still looking good then everyone can relax in the knowledge that you really can get good FUE here in the UK.

Like you and everyone else I was interested in seeing Rooney's progress before I did anything but I am in touch with the harley street hair clinic and will keep you posted.

Don't think they are short of work just now though!

I would imagine they aren't, I don't think the general public will get the same level of concentration when operating as Rooney got, if he gets a bad result, that could mess them up big time.

Unable to upload some pics from Harley Street Hair Clinic prior to the Rooney FUE

Some very nice looking results there at differing timescales. Would be interested in other peoples views on the quality of the work on the ir gallery. Thanks.
