Curly/wavy hair has pros and cons, obviously, the curl when the hair is worn at a certain length really helps with the illusion of greater density.

The mechanics of the procedure yes it does make a difference compared for example to straight hair. With FUT it is simpler as the strip removes all the FU intact together and then they can be divided individually under magnification, more time consuming but necessary; obviously FUE is different being blind extraction so judging the direction of the FU under the skin becomes trickier, and the larger the procedure could increase the transection %.

Placement orientation is decided by the slit making, so within reason straight or curly the graft can only be angled in the direction the slit has been made. But watching the curvature of the hair relies on some length being left on the graft to judge the lay of the hair. This is solely down to the placer to watch and alter the placement direction, with practice it does not have to take hardly any longer and makes a huge difference to the result in terms of the hairs laying in the same direction, giving better coverage and density.
