I think Shipero does better scars then Feller...however...That's one question I forgot to ask...How each does their closures.....

Our docs will each do a subQ closure with disolveable sutures and will take into consideration the laxity and tissue type for either nylon sutures or staples for the out layer that will need to be removed at 10-14 days post op. So they both do a double layer closure.

I actually saw you in one of the op rooms when i visited a FUE case in the back Doc was working on right before i left....I was going to say high but got caught up in the consult with Zup and Dr Ron.

I think Hairtec was working on him....

Zup took pictures if you want to take a look or even post if you like.....

Also Janna how does Feller do his closures?...would you know?...Have you heard of any not so great scars coming from his clinic?

I think im going to go strip for the first 1000-1500 grafts then FUE for the rest....so the best scar doc will get the job....

Oh by the way does Dr Ron due scar grafting?...in case i wanted to put an extra 50 in my upper scar at the same time

No, I don't know about Dr. Feller's closure technique.

Yes, Dr. Shapiro can place grafts into the scar as any doctor can. The only problem when planting grafts into a scar line is then sleeping gets tricky as you cannot lay on grafts.

Cole did 60 at the same time as my front grafts...i slept sitting up for a few days...it was no big deal....the top scar is about 2 inch above the lower strip scar that will be used for grafts...My goal if im never to use that scar again is to eliminate it from site if i shaved it down to a 1 guard by adding grafts and maybe even SMP...then ill do the same for the lower scare once everything is said and done....

Cole couldnt see the reasoning behind that statement and thought i was being to critical and was looking for perfection....his logic is if i cant see the scar through my longer hair why bother....Well why not look for a better/shorter hair style result...Id even think about SMP in the white FUE dots...his answer was ....Why...? and my answer was....Why not..!

Wow, I just got off the phone with 2 people that had work done by Feller, Now grant it I must have spoken to about 12 past Feller patients over the last month with good to just ok feedback regarding scars but the last 2 sent me several pictures of extremely bad/thick scars....!

It seems that though Feller is good at hairline work he is somewhat lacking in donor closure skill. That or the scar is not a big enough issue for him to do better...

One did say that Feller wasent the first transplant doc to work on him It was Bernstein and Feller did the next 2 on him ....But even after 3 strips I dont think it should have been that wide.......He told me that one doc told him it was due to going back to the gym too early...?!

From what I know stretching from the gym shouldn't have been that much of an issue....

pvtpt I don't think you have read any history. It's not meant to be a putdown but really go back and read the last 10 years of history.

You really should be commended for making those phone calls and speaking to all those patients as that you can't get that from the forums. Hopefully others will see this and follow your example.

I was referring to Feller, I didn't like much of what I have read. I'm sure he has plenty of good cases but it's how you handle the poor cases that I really take notice of.

Maybe it's just a personal requirement for me.
