Shinytop - Ive posted a pic of the donor site immediately post staple removal. The staples came out with no problem - not a painful experience at all.

A fair few scabs will be scattered along the donor line but i wouldn't worry about that too much. I had the staples out exactly on day 14 and it is now 5 days later and nearly all the remaining scabs have gone. Just give the area a nice vigorous scrubbing when shampooing and they will soften and come away over the following few days.

The shedding of the transplanted hairs is underway now, as expected. I will post more pics as this progresses.

Thanks Shiny, I hope so.

The scar is already beginning to fade and the redness has gone completely in some sections.

Im hoping Dr Farjo will be able to reopen it (or very close) next year so we can do part 2 (the back and crown).

I will ask the clinic to email me their pics as they took a lot more than me and better quality.

Exactly four weeks ago today, I was setting out for Manchester for my first HT with Dr Farjo the following day. Hard to believe a month has already gone since then!

Nearly all the transplanted hair has now shed and I'm pretty much back to looking exactly as I did one month ago. If you look very closely, you can see the new skin in the transplanted area is a slightly different colour to the rest of my scalp (the old skin shed with the scabs) but it will weather soon enough. Besides, you would really have to be looking closely to notice it. I've been out and about all week with head uncovered and nobody has given me the slightest odd look.

I've attached an up to date pic, taken today.

I guess now it is just a case of waiting....

Hello All

I'm just posting an update as it is now 16 weeks since my first HT with Dr Farjo.

Sorry I missed the 3 month update - pressure of work I'm afraid made it fly past without me getting a chance to post.

Anyway, here is a photo from 12 weeks post op.

I will follow this with a couple from 16 weeks.

Can somone tell me whether it is better to just let it grow out from this stage or keep shaving it down?

I've been cutting it down until about 2 weeks ago but I'm wondering what others do?

Looks like its starting to come in and will get thicker over the coming months,your at the very early stage.

Think you should let it grow out for a while and maybe get some length on it and then keep trimming it until the rest of it catches up.

Staffie, I read your own blog and was struck by how similar are experiences were of surgery. I am as you say about 6 weeks ahead of u so I guess u are just about 3 months now. At that point I had very little showing through and then over the next 4 weeks, fine hair started to appear. You can expect the same I expect. Keep taking photos and you will see the changes when looking back through them. I will keep posting mine so you can see what will happen (hopefully!) next for you.

BN- thanks for posting and your encouragement mate. Your story was certainly an inspiration for me so its great you are still here mentoring. How about posting some up to date photos some time?

Im at the 20 weeks stage now post op. Have taken some more pics, and have posted the two that came out the best (it's not easy taking your photos! Lots of trial and error to get something decent I find!)

From what I read here, months 5-7 tend to see quite a bit of change??

Anyway, with a bit of help I've got two "top down" photos. I always like to see shots from different angles on other blogs so I'll try to provide these in future as well as the front shots.
