Itchy scalp through minoxidil

Hello all
As the title of the topic states, is there anything that can relieve an itchy scalp when using minoxidil? I've been on minox for about a year and a half now but I have recently started to get an itchy scalp at times through out the day. c;;9
Are there any lotions or creams to use that can alleviate it if possible?

You can try Nizoral shampoo from Boots. It works pretty well using it twice a week. What shampoo do you use now?

I currently use Nizoral twice a week, I recently started using a shampoo for every other day called nanogen which states on the bottle that is most suitable for minoxidil users, perhaps I may be using too much minox. It is in the liquid form and I use the dropper, I arranged an appointment with my dermatologist just to see what he says.

Try using foam instead of liquid Minoxidil.

Alternatively if you are using Kirkland Minoxidil, switch to main brand.

Either may be worth trying.

Switching to the foam is an alternative as it seems to be milder on the scalp. I had similar issues as you`re having with liquid. My head would itch like crazy, become inflamed and caused terrible dandruff. In the end, I gave up, I tried the foam a few months later but that irritated my scalp too. After a few months I gave up on that as well. I only take Finasteride now with Biotin and MSM supplements.
Hopefully, you can work something out with your Derm that works for you.
Keep us updated.
Good luck.

@ Coopman- that is what I am using just now, I once bought regaine foam from a pharmacy, went to use it and wouldn't come out, had to adjust the bottle and still nothing Andy they wouldn't let me return it as they said that I had quote "tampered" with it, what a joke, so just to be sure I have since went with the liquid version. But maybe that was a one off so I may try it again at some point but from a better source, I.e this website.
@Bigmac- I also take biotin supplements, not yet on fin but considering it, would much rather simply take a daily pill than have a greasy scalp throughout the day.

I had severe dandruff with liquid, but it cleared up when using the foam. Sometimes particularly when exercising my head would itch.

Out of interest branded minox foam dried in 10mins and less itchiness. However Kirkland foam Minoxidil took 30min to dry.

Stopped using the stuff as been on Fin 15+years and maintained. Got good regrowth from Minox but found it a hassle to use twice a day.
