Just starting my hair loss journey

Good day everybody.

I hope this finds you well.

I apologize if this is in the incorrect section as I am new here.

I am a 36 year old male. I have recently (the past 6 months) have started to notice hair loss, and thinning in the front, and temple areas. I knew this day would eventually come and sadly it is here.

I would like to intervene and slow down the rate of hair loss and hopefully keep a full head of hair for as long as possible.

I have a few questions I hope you could help me with.

I am in the process of purchasing some 5% topical minoxidil. Should I start with this daily or should I also add in a dht blocker? I can purchase a dual action topical minoxidil with added dht blocker if necessary.

How likely am I to see improvement in my hair loss and thinning after using minoxidil?

Would daily use of minoxidil for the rest of my life slow down hair loss to a noticeable rate?

Are there any supplements I should be taking along with minoxidil that aren't just gimmicks?

Are there any other steps I should be considering before minoxidil?

Having a combination of both will hopefully block the DHT and the Minox element promote some regrowth of miniaturised hairs. The decision is really down to you you if you try both together or separately.
It could be just a natural maturing hairline you have. Low vitamin D can cause hair to thin.
As for slowing down for life. Not everyone responds go the meds. You will only know if you try it.

Thank you for your reply. How would I know if the minoxidil and dht blocker combo is slowing my hair loss down?

Oe example ould be if you see excess hair falling out after washing, then these numbers decrease. Taking regular pictures to monitor it. Have your density checked periodically by a doctor.
Have you some pictures to show before your loss and now?
