I suggest you contact your clinic regarding that persistent scab. This should have left on it's own along with the rest of the scabs. Pure vitamin E oil should help lift it but do nothing without your doctor's advice first.

Hey Guys,
I'm now up coming up to 1 month post-op. And it's safe to say the shedding has started! I've still got a bit of redness around the 'Recipient area' where some scabbing only disappeared about a week ago and some of them unfortunately came out along with some grafts when I was sleeping and has left a bit of scarring (near the red blood blotch on my head....) which is a worry. But hopefully this didn't affect the follicles too much. And if it did, hoping it will be covered if the procedure proves to be a success! The donor area is pretty much non-existing and I'm very surprised in how quickly it healed up.
The recipient area of my head is still numb and I was wandering whether anyone had a similar experience and if it's normal? Tried contacting the clinic but they're not replying!
Anyways apart from that, everything is all good up to now. I've bought some Nizoral shampoo (cheers whatyawant!) and I've been continuing the Propecia, Biotin and vitamin medication as prescribed by the clinic. I've started to wash my hair as normal and hopefully going to get back to some moderate exercise this week! I've been back on my motorcycle and wearing a helmet for the past week and I've been trying to avoid heavy contact with my helmet and the grafts when riding. I'm very optimistic about seeing some early signs of growth 8 or so weeks from now. I'll post another update in a months time. If anyone's got any questions or even some more tips, drop a message on this thread!
Cheers,
LM

Cheers for the update Luke! Good to see the stages each week! Is it quite noticeable at the moment? Im due to be off for 6 weeks from work but I don't want people in my job to know I've had it done. You should try some aloe Vera for the redness!
I'm considering only getting a small job done so it's easier to hide and get more done later.😁

Hey Whatyawant,
It's clearly obvious that I've had a hair transplant but people wouldn't actually know I've had the procedure weirdly. I actually went back to work a week after my procedure and I told a very minor lie by saying that I cut my head badly in an extreme sports accident and that I need to keep it covered. My colleagues actually bought it.... Feel like I'm betraying them but I really didn't want them to know. And due to the nature of my work (I'm a chef), I was able to wear a hat to cover it up. If you get the procedure done within a couple of weeks then that gives you another four weeks to heal up. Should be sufficient to look a bit more normal! I've been shaving the back and sides and cutting the top with my own scissors to blend it all in a bit. I've been applying aloe Vera for a few weeks now which has helped a lot. I'd avoid getting little bits of HT's and get the procedure done in one session if possible. Just saves time and money!

Hey Luke how's the head looking? I would be interested to see the redness or how it has come down?

Hey Whatyawant,

The redness is still visible but it's gone down a lot. I messaged the clinic about a week or so ago and they reassured me that post-op redness varies from skin to skin. So it's all good! I'll post up some pictures in a few weeks time! Peace

Hows your donor area looking. Are you still keeping your hair short ?.....i am, im keeping it at grade 1, but obviously after such a large fue session there is a light extraction pattern still...is that the case with you ?

Hey guys and happy new year!

Ive been using a razor blade for the back and sides of my head every 4-5 days to keep it very short and using my own hair scissors on the top aswel. You can see a slight extraction line still but it's hardly noticeable.
The thing that stands out the most is the redness of my recipient area. It's gone down gradually but it's still very red. It's very numb as well which is weird but again, I've been informed that this is normal and I shouldn't be worried.

The only thing that worries me is that I can see small visible incision holes where the transplanted hairs were and I was wandering whether this happened with anyone else? Not too worried but I am still looking a bit worse for wear! Just hoping to get some signs of little growth within the next 2-3 months 🙌

I can see little incision holes aswell so dont worry. Im just over the month now. My recipient area is fine, no redness or numbness. But my donor area is still slightly sensitive. It doesnt hurt, just a little tender. Which i would think is perfectly normal, when you have had 4600 plus grafts.

Hi guys,

Not much to add from my previous update! I have noticed lots of fine hairs poking through the incision holes which is very promising at these early stages.
My 'original' hair is growing ridiculously quickly due to the medication. But it's still early days to be fully assessing my hair but so far so good! The redness has subsided quite a lot but it's still fairly visible. My recipient area is still numb which is annoying but other than that, everything is going good! Oh, and my donor area is pretty much all healed up! It's barely visible!
I'll add some photos in a few weeks when I hit the eagerly anticipated 12 week mark!

Cheers,
L.M

Hey guys,
So I've come up to the 10 week mark today and I thought I'd post a little update. Again, not a lot to add but I've put a few photos up with my progress! I stopped shedding a few weeks back and I've actually started to notice a few fine hairs growing through the incision holes which is very promising at this early stage 😀 The transplanted hairs which didn't shed are starting to grow at a fair pace aswell. My donor area is pretty much fully healed apart from a few bare patches which have popped up near the top of the donor line but I'm not that concerned about it at this early stage. There is a very visible rash on the back of my neck but that's from myself using a razor blade! I've been keeping the back and sides (and where there's no transplanted hair!) clean shaven with a razor blade and using clippers very delicately on the top of my head. When I say delicately, I mean I don't touch my skin with the clippers :) The recipient area is still fairly red but it has gone down a fair bit since my last picture update. I'm still a little bit worried that my recipient area is still numb but I've heard this is normal for a few patients and i should get feeling back over the next few months.I must admit, it's pretty hard going at this stage because of the lack of growth and the big question that runs in. Y head, "will it work..." but I'm very hopeful on what's going to happen over the coming months!
Fingers crossed..... 🙌

Looks good Luke! - how do you upload multiple images? How many hairs did you have implanted via FUE?

I am coming up to 10 weeks - I can see very fine hairs like fine tiny ones as those on your wrists, or arms etc....not sure if this is new hair?

We both had surgery around the same time and if you're seeing some growth then this could be the start of my new hair?

Tell me - do you wash/massage and shampoo and the implanted zones when you wash your hair? - I AM JUST WORRIED that these VERY fine colourless hairs will shed! ;ss;))N_):)

Hey supersmooth,

I use Instagram's 'layout' app Which creates a picture collage. Yeah I've got the exact same thing with my hair aswell mate. Saying that, I'm seeing random hairs popping up all over the place now which has got me excited. I've even had people comment on my hair saying they've seen a difference in terms of new hair comments. But it's still very early days! I won't fully assess my head for another 6-8 weeks at the very least.
I just wash my hair as normal now. I don't even 'massage' it either. Just follow my normal routine as I did before my HT. I think your hair will always shed because that's the normal life cycle of a hair follicle. So don't be worried if you see those fine hairs falling. I've noticed you've had a few posts already in the forum and you've been getting a bit too worried about everything. You just need to relax a bit mate👌 Ive been exercising a lot to take me mind of it all! Maybe you should do something to keep your mind off everything as well😀
