Hi guys, wanting to share my procedure. Feeling Happy!
Clinic: Jinemed Hospital, Istanbul
Procedure/Grafts: FUE Procedure/3800 Grafts
Dr Name: Dr Berfu Bebbacu
After lots of research and hmmming and grunting over my hair loss, i finally bit the bullet & decided to go with the Jinemed Clinic in Istanbul Turkey. I will add pictures later to this post to show you guys the progress of my procedure so far. It has been 14days since I had the procedure and my results are looking amazing so far.
The clinic were very helpfull and answered all my questions prior to me going ahead and booking it. They were extremely professional & caring and the whole team made my procedure a memorable experience.
I am 28 years of age and over the past 2 years my hairloss has particulary slowed down. I was thinning at the temples, crown and had a pregressively receding hairline.
Upon an initial online consultation where i provided detailed pictures, the doctor estimated that I would need 2700-3200 grafts. I must say, my donor area is extremely thick and therfore made a good candidate for the procedure. I had on average 3 hairs per graft and upon arriving at the clinic and having my consultation, the doctor said she could harvest 3800 grafts-result!. They also did not charge me any extra for these grafts.
Having a great donor area meant my result was going to be pretty good and I was made to feel very comfortable and happy about my procedure. The whole experience only took 3 days. I arrived on a monday in Istanbul at 10PM, my private driver drove me to the hotel that had been booked for me. It was pretty decent with AC and a fridge full of drinks. I was only here for one night so was not too fussed. I had breakfast the following morning and at 11am my driver picked me up to take me to the hospital.
My blood was taken at around 12pm and then I had my consultation and detailed discussion with my doctor, discussed my procedure, maintenance of my new hair, follow up medication was discussed etc. I was given a detailed document explaining how I had to take care of my transplanted hair and given various tablets, pain killers shampoo and lotions for post procedure.
by 4:30pm I had my head shaved and my new hairline discussed and surgery then began. It took 10 hours to extract the grafts, create new hair sites and implant the grafted units. It was painful at times and slightly uncomfortable but the doctor and her assistants showed amazing professionalism, they were carefull, patient and took their time. I did not hear a single moan, sigh or was shown any sign of tiredness or rush. I was well informed throughout the operation & also took some selfies whilst it was being done.
I was given breakfast and slept overnight at the hospital. I arrived back in the UK by 4pm on Wednesday. It was the first time travelling out of the country for 18 years & I went alone so making sure all details were spot on was very important to me. The team at Jinemed helped me plan my trip to perfection. Miss Romina, the patient co-ordinator, Dr Berfu Bebbacu the surgeon & her team and mr Kaan Sakar (patient advisor) were absolutely brilliant. I dont think I will need another procedure but should I do I will return to these guys within a heartbeat.
It has been around 16 days today and my donor area has healed like normal, the scabs have fallen off and the small hairs are now shedding/growing. I do feel some tenderness around the frontal area and a slight tingle avery now and then around the donor area but this is normal at this stage. Also, i had swelling for around 2-5 days post op but it calmed down and went away 100% as the doctor said it would.
I returned to work and not a single person knew I had had something done, the way my hairline has been designed is 100% Natural with the odd hair below the actual hairline to keep it soft looking, natural but noticeably visible too. Everyone thinks I have just shaven my head
I paid £2600 for my procedure & this included everything. This was the price for 27-3200 grafts but the surgeon happily extracted 3800 grafts at no extra cost. My flight cost me £310 via Turkish Airlines so £2910. So far with the results I have and for the whole experience I feel that this price was fantastic. I know the clinic may not be as popular as some others but I had very high expectations and standards and I can comfortably say these were met thoroughly & throughout the procedure. I would highly recommend them to anybody. of Course It will take time to see how the hair will grow out but i will post some pictures on here a few months down the line. The clinic also put me in touch with recent patients who i made contact and shared photos & their experiences too. All had positive things to say and were also extremely happy with their procedures. I will post some pictures of my hair, pre opp pics, immediate post op pics and pics upto date within a few hours.
