My Farjo Hair Institute experience and 12 months review

Hi all,

Wanted to post on here regarding my fantastic experience with a UK clinic. Flirted with the idea of hair loss treatment for quite some time, didn’t take it too seriously until I caught up with an actor friend who looked ten years younger. Seeing his hair looking great spurred me on to look into the various options. I wanted to stick to the UK for a number of reasons, mainly the reassurance of an established UK clinic. So I spent a great deal of time researching clinics here. I settled upon two options - the one my friend used, Farjo Clinic, alongside the Maitland clinic. I’m sure Maitland are very good, they have fine reviews. I chose Farjo as my friend’s recommendation meant a lot, especially as his results looked spot on, plus the clinic was very handy for me and I was really happy with the zero pressure consultations with Mick and Dr Kay. The consultations was unexpectedly easy going and I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of sales talk. I never once felt any pressure to ‘buy’. Because of various client-facing work commitments I did take ages to finally agree and settle on a date. I think it is important to stress there was no chasing during this period of indecisiveness as it gave me confidence in the business.

On the day, Dr Kay helped me work out a hairline which would suit me best and the FUE procedure was painless, really. I nodded off a few times! I had pretty much complete hair loss to the front third of my head, with the baldness ending abruptly in a line across the top of my head. It looked, well, daft. 12 months on, and having been taking Finasteride daily, the FUE results look great. If I remember rightly, I think the transplant harvest count was around 1800, so I assume most of those made it in to my bonce. I may have a top-up at some point, but I am going to wait a decent length of time to decide because, to be honest, it’s looking good as it is. I imagine a good surgical procedure makes all the difference, as I saw some absolute horror shows during my research. Cannot fault the whole process from Farjo Clinic, Mick and Dr Kay and the team. I can’t really remember everyone’s names unfortunately as all of the medical staff deserve recognition. Facilities and staff are all great. There are three things in life that I would suggest never scrimping on - washing-up liquid, condoms and cosmetic surgery. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a consultation with Farjo. Tom J.

PS I wanted to wait to comment publicly until I saw a full outcome of my results, as I had seen many reviews where clinics were being eulogised just after the surgery, with absolutely no proof of result.

Hi Tom,

Congratulations on your 12 month result, must be exciting! Also what a great time to have hit the 12 month mark as the UK slowly reopens.

I believe it is this clinic that offer PRP as part of the HT procedure. Did you/didn’t you take this up and if so, how beneficial do you think it was?

Regards.

Welcome to the forum. It`s good to hear you had a great experience with the clinic and that you`re happy with the final result.
Would you be able to add some before and after pictures so we can see the change it`s made to your appearance?
All the best.

Hi @Lockdown-Locks! and @Bigmac

Apologies for the delay I've been so busy at work this last couple of weeks.
@Lockdown-Locks! re: PRP, I didn't have this as part of my procedure so I'm afraid I can't give an opinion. I've caught the odd article about it but I'm sure there are more learned folks than I on here who could help with some experience or advice. You're right about the timing. It couldn't have been better to be honest! The funny thing is bumping into people I've haven't seen in a while after the past year and seeing their faces when they try to work out what's happened with my bonce

@Bigmac please see a small selection of before/after. As soon as I get back to Farjo for my 'official' after shots I'll request a couple to post here however these should give you a really good indication. They go Pre-op/Immediate post-op/6 months/12 months. As I mentioned in my first post, very happy with the results.

As a general piece of feedback I would say you have to be patient. You do need to give yourself a good 12 months to fully appreciate the transplant 'bedding-in'. There's really no need to be anxious about how the results look any earlier if you have confidence in the clinic as I had with Farjo Institute.

Happy to answer any more questions, please bear with if it takes me a short while to reply.

Tom J.
