My Hair Pictures showing my current loss...

Hello again guys. I have added some pictures of my current hair loss state. As previous in my early post I have loss at the crown and the frontal area of the head with considerabley no nairline anymore. I feel that my hairloss has slowed down a little as its been like this for the past year and a half (i monitor it very closely) I have been using regaine but have not had any REAL results.

Ive been in touch with Prohair over the week and Bart commented that I am suffering from "aggressive hair loss" and recommended that I take some fenasteride. I am worried about the side affects of fenasteride and dont want to inhibit my body with chemicals that will disrupt my hormonal system.

He recommended that I went for a medium density restoration 40 cm2 as I may lose alot more hair in the future and if i was to go for a full density i may run out of donors to cover the frontn later.

I've added some pictures..let me know what you think guys. Im 26 years of age and my donor area is very thick indeed and i am cofnident it will remian very thick as my fathers is and is also not low bald at the rear of the head.

has anyone seen similar cases as mine? what were the results and costs?

comments and suggestions will be a MASSIVE help...as alot of you probably have experienced... my hairloss is torture for me that said...

You do have a lot of loss considering your young age. Clinics should not go aggressive on you despite your confidence that your hair loss may have stabilized. You have a really good chance of achieving a Norwood 5 or 6. considering how much loss you have already.

The fact that you don't want to be on Finasteride does not help. Finasteride and Regaine help to slow your hairloss progression and sometimes it even helps to regrow lost hairs.

We know the donor supply is limited and how much donor a patient has varies. It's difficult to assess how much donor You have from pictures but try to get few estimates of your donor supply from few different clinics to get their opinion. Each clinic will vary slightly in their estimation. What you do with the limited donor supply is very important. Good luck.

Hi Amir

You hair is miniaturising throughout from hair line to crown and even the surgery itself could shock loss out what you have due it its present state or in the least speed up the loss there.

It would be unwise to do as you've drawn, your crown can open easily in time and leave you with an island of transplanted hair. Your hair from the front will also go at some stage and could leave a disconnected hair line.

I think good advice from both clinics, ideally look into stabilising the loss with medication before having surgery. You will also need to get your donor checked to see what you have available before committing.


You need to be as conservative as possible with any surgery keeping in mind your age, loss potential and not front or back loading (into the crown) your donor without seeing the future events that may happen.

As others have said, you will most likely lose more hair and any transplanted hair may just replace what you will lose further down the line.

Some people say they have success with Saw Palmetto, its natural and cheap so maybe give it a go, i would also try Rogaine if you`re not going to try Finesteride.

Take one year out of your life and try finasteride. Seriously... You are so you young and you could bring some of this loss back a bit or halt the hair loss in its tracks right now.

Just my opinion but if you try a med and for a year... and you stabilize the loss... then you could open up more options for a hair restoration.
