My hairline :)

Hi all, new to hair loss and this site!

Wondering what you all think...

My hairline is receding on the sides and around the temple.. I can see some really thin light hair up close where it used to be thicker and I am loosing it on the side.

At the moment I can have a fringe to cover but I’m worried as it recedes back this might be hard later on.

would some sort of transplant help and what happens if I have a transplant for hairline And then I start to recede further back. Should I wait to see how it recedes before doing anything? My hairline has always been high! Shows my big forehead haha!

Thanks for any advice.

Hello Daaz.
Your hairline looks to have receded a bit, the thin hair you can see will most probably be miniaturised hair, meaning it will probably go.
How old are you and what is your family history of hair loss?
You could check into hair loss medications such as Finasteride and Minoxidil, they both usually work to prevent future loss and sometimes grow back dormant and miniaturised follicles. They may cause side effects, so read up on them before deciding.

Thanks!

don’t really want to go down tablet routes...

would a hair transplant be a good option or would I need to wait longer to see how it recedesbefore getting something done ?

Family history is baldness, well my dad still has hair around sides at back but hardly anything on top!

You can get a hair transplant now but you run the risk of losing more hair, therefore needing more transplants if you want to maintain the same look.
It may be best to wait and see how it progresses, especially with your dad losing a lot. How old are you?
There are natural options that some people claim stopped their loss, things like Saw Palmetto.
Take a look at this guy, he had a HT, stopped the meds and lost a lot more hair.
Progressive hair loss without Meds

Hello mate
My hairline was similar to urs
One side higher than other
I've had 3 hair transplants in the same area and still not happy
IN UR CASE U MUST GO ON MEDS
I wish I had gone on meds before any hair transplants
I'm now chasing to fill in areas that have thinned over the yrs
I was like u, dont want to go on meds
Be ok transplants will give me what I want
Believe me it wont
My advice ,go on meds for 12 months see how u get on get a good haircut that can hide the receding areas,u would be surprised what a good haircut could do

If u get a transplant now u will be chasing for more transplants because u will more than likely thin lot more.
It could ruin ur life like it has mine.
Know that sounds drastic mate but I had my first transplant 2003 and my hair is all I think about now 24/7

Too early for transplant. Get minoxidil and apply twice a day. It may regrow the hair if you’re lucky, but it will most certainly halt the hair receding further.
