Need help

Hello,


I am a 30 years old patient. Already 2 hair transplantation that no work at all. First in 2008 at age of 18 (young and stupid boy) a FUT by a catastrophic practician. He ruined my life with a big scars and a bad result. From this time, my life will be never the same. A second FUE (1200 graff) in 2014 with another docter. But today, at 30 years old, the baldness has almost win. And i look like nothing unfortunately. I ruined my life litteraly. I would like to shave my head but impossible with this big scars behind. I hesitate to do another and last FUE and maybe try BHT to cover the scar. I don't know if the donor area is still optimal. It is the last chance of my life because I had very dark ideas because of this shit. What do you think ?

Maybe also try a FUE on the top. But i don’t think it is possible as the poor donor area, especially if i do a fUE on the scar. I don't want a linear front line but a V front line like I have now. Just a densification work. It would maybe demand less Graffs.

I also tried SMP.

I think the best solution is to do a FUE and/or BHT in the scar if it is possible. And after that shave as short as possible and live with that. The only thing that block me to shave for the moment is this disgrasious scar. Do you think possible to reduce this scar with fue ?

Who did surgery on you aged 18? Have you contacted some clinics to ask if they can cut your scar out to make it smaller before looking at Fue? If your skin is stretchy enough it could be done.

I know man. As i said i was young and stupid. I regret it every day of my life. Never be the sale after that unfortunately. I was in a real depression

There are loads of scar repairs on here. I’m pretty sure someone will be able to fix it for you.
What clinic did the operation when you were 18?

Just received a mail from Wong an Hasson. This is what they say : Dr. Wong has reviewed your case and feels you are a candidate for FUE into the scar only. Your final pattern of loss is aggressive and your donor reserves are limited. You also have some retro grade type loss pattern which further limits the total number of grafts available in the donor area. It would not be in your best interest in his opinion to have a procedure. The amount of areas that could be covered with the present donor supply would not provide enough cosmetic benefit to warrant surgery. For FUE into the scar, he estimates something in the 400 graft range may be required and possible. While we can’t make it disappear, the goal will be to soften the linear scar by strategically placing the necessary amount of grafts in and around it to reduce it’s impact on your appearance. He also feels some removal of the previous grafts may be a good option also to create a more normal looking balding pattern.

Sorry to hear you`ve had to endure this from a very young age. You were too young to have surgery and should have been told this by the clinic.
I think Hasson and Wong are spot on with their appraisal of your situation. You could ask if a scar revision is an option but they would have to see you to check your laxity, this could create a pencil thin scar but also has the risk of stretching. Many have had successful scar revisions.
If FUE is the option that you choose and the doctor advises, it could work out very well to hide your scar.

I agree with Dr Wong regarding putting hair grafts into the scar. Additional benefit is that if the dark pigmented hair are used for transplant, the melanin pigment from these hair could help by pigmenting the scar.
That is additional benefit since you have a white skin.
I would suggest using some beard and body hair too to increase the donor supply. I remember in a patient "Argentine", we extracted 200+ grafts from the mustache alone to put into the multiple strip scars. A total of >6000+ grafts were extracted from beard. So, look at that angle too.

Another example - a US based Caucasian white male whose scalp donor was completely wiped out and we used beard and body hair to reconstruct his appearance.

I did the smp in Brussels in Belgium. But i don’t know the pigment shade

I already did a scar revision by Dr Devroye. But scar is still visible.
So you think that Dr Wong is a good option to do FUE in the scar ?

If Dr Wong is the choice you`ve made, then I believe he will do a good repair for you with FUE into the scar. Did you check out the link on Joe's scar repair I posted in the above reply? His scar is somewhat similar to yours.

Yes i check it. He did effectively a good repair. But this man had a good donor area. Not my case . And someone asked me if Dr Wong is also good for FUE ?

I think you will be able to harvest enough grafts from your donor, if not you can use some beard hair as suggested by Dr Arvind. Beard grafts grow well on the scalp.
