Hi, ive been considering for a few months now a hair transplant or something that can solve my hair loss problem. Ive never had the 'fullest and thickest' of hair but i have noticed a real loss in hair in certain areas (crown and top area) over the last two years. Im now at a crossroad where i feel like i sould shave it all off or try to try and fix this problem, prefering the latter.
I have had a consultation with KSL in glasgow, which appeared to go alright, but as its my first hair transplant consultation, i didnt really know what to expect. They talked about laser treatment and then hair transplant using FUE, totalling around £9000.
I have applied for a consultation for DHI and vinci and just waiting to hear back.
Ive looked around this forum trying to find some information. If anyne has any advice on where is the best, most helpful, value for money places around the glasgow area, i would be more than happy to hear back.....
Ill attach some pictures and maybe yous can point me in the right direction
thanks!

Hairandgone,

There is only one clinic to bother with in Scotland. That is the Glasgow clinic. They will give you ethical and honest advice and have a proven track record.

Let us know what they say after you see them.

Good luck.

cheersfor the reply doingthedeed . I actually looked into the glasgow clinic, they do seem to be the best one in glasgow, but their prices do seem to be considerably higher than the rest too. I know as they say, 'you get what you pay for', but im afraid their prices are out my budget.
Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with any of the other clinics in glasgow?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Have you checked into using meds first to see if you respond to them ?
Shaving your head is an option, depending on what surgery you want, there's a good chance your head will be shaved for surgery, so you may as well see if you are comfortable with a shaved head before going down the Ht route,
If you decide a Ht is what you want, Then I would consult with them all, ask for patients to speak to and see how many grafts they recommend.
If you check out the patient section on here, you can interact with patients from these clinics you're checking out.
Hope that helps.

Hi hair and gone,

Yours looks to be a pretty challenging case given the extent of thinning and also looking at how far your crown has dipped at the back. How many grafts were recommended at your consult? Also did they give you an idea of your overall donor numbers available?

I would definitely suggest you get a couple more in person consultations to give you a clearer idea of how best to tackle this. Best of luck.

hi bigmac, thanks for the reply.
No i havent tried any meds yet, tbh i wouldnt know where to start? I would be more than happy to give them a try though. The only thing i have tried is the shampoo alpecin, which i have read doesnt really help with hair re-growth.
I actually get my hair cut really short anyways, so shaving it off wouldnt be a problem for surgery. I would just like to have a head of hair again withouth the big balding area. Im not hoping for flowing golden locks, but just enough hair that it can look like a normal short haircut. I have a couple consultations booked for next week. One of the companies was recommending hair pigmentation. I dont know if i would be comfortable with that or if it is a proper solution?
thanks for the help, ill try look into more on the patients section

hi pete from farjo, that was my initial thought, 'am i even viable for a transplant?' I have only been to one company so far and they didnt give me a number of grafts that would be needed, but more like a price of the job needed. I also didnt get told any donar number available. I guess i went in there raw and didnt really think to ask these sort of questions.
Im just really hoping now to get a couple answers from consultations to if a HT is actually available or if i just shave it all off. lol
thanks for the help, hopefully i can pick up some more information that i need

The meds can be confusing when you first start reading about them. Ask away on here if you need any advice.
