Please help me classify this type of hair loss

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing significant hair loss on both my sides and hairline, but my sides are receding much faster than the rest. Based on my observations, it doesn't seem like the usual male pattern baldness. Additionally, I have noticed diffuse thinning, which becomes more noticeable when I have shorter hair. I have attached a picture for reference, and I have only found one person with a similar type of hair loss (picture 3)

I have two questions further questions:

Firstly, do you think I would be a candidate for a hair transplant considering the type of hair loss I am experiencing?

Secondly, I am hesitant to take Fin because of the rare potential side effects I have read about. I have heard there are topical versions of Fin that do not come with the same side effects. Can anyone recommend any such products?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Additional information:

I am 27 years old. I have been noticing my hair receding since 2018.

I have not noticed any shedding at all, so I am not sure how my hair are thinning and going through miniaturisation.

Pics are not that clear and from proper angles ..but can see that you are thinning on top and medication will work well...i understand you are concerned abt side effects but that are rare and the side effects are not permanent one...they can be reversed once you stop the drug ....so imho you should consider oral finasteride and oral minoxidil after consulting a good doctor ....you can do take prp sessions along with medication...this works well with diffused thinning....

But still if you only want a topical version thn you can look at topical dutasteride by xyon health .....its systemic absorption is very less..thn you can use that with oral minoxidil..but you need to be on medication religiously and need to give them time to work..and thn you will see the positive results ...be on medication for at least 8-10 months before considering a surgery..

If you notice too much of thinning on sides(from nap to upward direction) thn you should visit a good doctor and get checked that it is retrograde alopecia or not...best of luck..

This seems like male pattern baldness. Did you visit a hair doctor? I don't think you should start any medications without consulting your hair doctor. Also, there is a more holistic approach to hair care that you can take for your hair and scalp health. The results will be good and they will be for the long term.

Based on the symptoms you've described, it's likely that you're dealing with male pattern baldness, a common condition. It's strongly recommended to schedule a consultation with a qualified hair doctor to receive personalized guidance. Prior to initiating any treatment, professional advice is crucial. Furthermore, considering a holistic strategy for hair care can offer substantial benefits for the long-term well-being of your hair and scalp.

Look into Finasteride and Minoxidio lotion / spray for the scalp only. Start with this and see how you get on over 12 months
